Rest, Reflection, and Reinvention: A Farewell (For Now) to the Podcast
Hi mamas, I have to admit that I have been putting off recording this episode because it's a very emotional one – it feels hard to share, but I also know that it feels like the right path forward. I’m diving into my emotional journey of motherhood, early entrepreneurship and now, the transition to business coaching. Also, how I’m learning to listen to my intuition which has led me to pause my work with sleep consulting and taking a step back from The Resting in Motherhood Podcast. This year especially has been a lesson on embracing change as I navigate my evolving identity. I’m still figuring out what this all looks like, so this is definitely a pause, not a goodbye. Navigating the Dilemma of Santa as a Gentle Parent
Today’s episode is coming from the heart and has been one that I wanted to talk about for a while. It is definitely a topic that’s more complex, or even polarizing – so let’s dive into my daughter’s journey with Santa (and soon the Tooth Fairy). Of course, before listening in, what I'm doing personally in my life does not mean that you have to do it, and just because I'm doing something one way doesn't mean that you're doing it the wrong way. It also doesn't mean that I'm judging you for doing it your way. But! In this episode, you will hear how the concept of Santa relates to the complexities of parenting, why I decided to never introduce Santa from the start, and how – if you choose to do Santa – you can do it in a way that’s in alignment with gentle parenting. Whatever you decide, I hope you can feel confident in embracing change to foster a more relaxed and joyful approach to motherhood in this season.Connect with me on Instagram: @resting_in_motherhood or visit the show’s site here.Work with Brittni:View current 1:1 Call and/or Email support services herePurchase the comprehensive sleep course, Resting in the First YearBook a 15 Minute Discovery Call hereCheck out additional workshops and guides hereThe Resting in Motherhood Podcast is produced by Heart Centered Podcasting.Learn more and join The Confident Mom's Collective here. [REPLAY] Dropping Balls: Choosing what to focus on in each season of life
Hi mama, just a heads up that this is another replay episode, one that I think is super relevant as we 1) often think we have to be doing it all during the holiday season and 2) head into the new year and feel tempted to set a lot of new goals that are actually unattainable. I hope this episode helps set you up for success throughout these next two months while reminding you that you are doing enough and that you are enough. –Feeling like you’re on the edge of burnout? Constantly overwhelmed? Not able to give 100% to any of the roles you play day to day? Mama, it might be time to drop a ball. On this week’s episode of The Resting in Motherhood Podcast, I’m sharing how I finally came to terms with the fact that something had to change in this season of motherhood – my hardest season yet. I was juggling mothering a toddler, solo parenting, running a business, and dealing with family health issues. I felt like I was disappointing myself and the people I care about. I had to choose what mattered most and focus my attention there. But how do you go about this process? Listen in to hear my story! You can view the episode’s original blog post here. REPLAY: What to Do When You Encounter Judgment from Loved Ones
Hi mama, just a heads up that this episode is actually a replay from last year around this same time, but with the holidays coming up, it’s becoming relevant again. Happy listening! With the holidays approaching, I want to chat about something that I am sure we have all encountered in our parenthood journey – judgment from our family or other loved ones. I know these topics can be so polarizing, but I’m hoping they don’t always have to be for you and your family. In this episode I’m sharing a few different ways you can navigate your next holiday gathering when your parenting decisions might come up in conversation. Remember, it's okay to stick up for yourself and it's okay to hold firm boundaries (even with the ones that we love) and also that our children are deserving of this respect and love, too. Mothering (and Feeding) Instinctually with Andrea Haskins
I’m excited to have Andrea Haskins on the show today. Andrea is the co-founder of Radical Moms Union, lactation counselor, and educator – she encourages mothers to be less dependent on the systems that often take away their authority. Throughout our conversation, she’s sharing the predatory messaging that women fall prey to from formula companies (much like the sleep training industry). Andrea shares her personal experiences with postpartum anxiety and the challenges of motherhood, emphasizing the need for informed choices and community support. The conversation also touches on the ethics of formula advertising, the historical context of formula feeding, and the implications of the 'Fed is Best' movement.Connect with me on Instagram: @resting_in_motherhood or visit the show’s site here.Work with Brittni:View current 1:1 Call and/or Email support services herePurchase the comprehensive sleep course, Resting in the First YearBook a 15 Minute Discovery Call hereCheck out additional workshops and guides hereThe Resting in Motherhood Podcast is produced by Heart Centered Podcasting.Learn more and join The Confident Mom's Collective here.
