- What is trauma a question that is encouraged to use by very many relationship experts now so that we can be aware of how our past has affected and impacted us.
In this episode I clearly explain what trauma as not just an event but "what happened after the distressful events" described Gabo mate.
This episode is for us to differentiate our past from the here and now.
I hope it's helpful
Cheers! - In this episode I talk about why we are always in a negative loop and how it's not a character flaw.
I eye rolled to my amygdala for being so attuned to negativity however the same part can also learn to be attuned to positivity through reshaping out brain a process called neuroplasticity.
So I have shared 5 experiential strategies on how we can reshape our brain to positivity which include: Savoring, Benefit finding, Gratitude practicing, out of space and Giving room for your thought (if you don't have the strategies to get yourself out of the rabbit hole I would take this technique lightly) however all can be helpful
I have also added a poll, for you to share which technique you find most helpful...
I will also be sharing other techniques from my new read "the organized mind"
I hope it' helpful
Cheers! - In this episode joined by my friends and colleagues we share our honest perspectives on navigating the therapy space as young psychotherapists, the challenges we face, the successes and what we look forward to.
I must say this episode was a point of reflection and growth for me, looking back to my past sessions, my present and future sessions, being reminded that what happens within a therapy session not only involves what's happening for the clients but also what happens between me and them.
I am so glad we had it because every psychotherapist/therapist needs such support for both personal and professional growth.
And I can't wait to get back to it after the holidays!!! - On this episode I was joined by a team of clinical psychologist who shared their knowledge on how we can contribute to the mental health wellbeing of children and adolescents in school not only as Mental health professionals, as stakeholders in schools.
This episode emphasizes the role of prevention in addressing mental health challenges/problems. - In this episode we talk about the different unhelpful strategies we use when faced with challenging situations.
Yes, these strategies give is immediate gratification however they have negative long lasting emotional/psychological and physical impacts.
Just a reminder to take care of yourself in a healthy way.
Cheers!
