  • A Quick Favor -It Won't Take Long
Hey dear listener, this is Anna Seewald. I have a quick favor to ask! I’m working on a creative project and I’d love your participation. It won’t take long. Here’s what I’d like you to do: fill in the blank in this sentence — “Authentic Parenting is a podcast about…” — in your own words, based on your own understanding. Then record it — yes, I need your voice! — and send it to me. You can record on your phone using the Voice Memo app and email it to [email protected]. Or, you can call 732-763-2576 and leave a voicemail. If you use WhatsApp, you can send a voice note directly to that same number. Some listeners have also used Facebook Messenger to send a voice note — that works too! And finally, you can use the SpeakPipe tool on the contact page of my website. Just one important thing — it has to be a voice message. If you send it in writing, I won’t be able to use it. Please do it as soon as you can — I truly can’t wait to hear your voice. Thank you for being part of the Authentic Parenting community!

  • Post-Traumatic Parenting: Breaking the Cycle with Dr. Robyn Koslowitz
What if the biggest thing standing in the way of the parent you want to isn’t your lack of patience, or the right parenting strategy—but your own unresolved trauma? My guest today, Dr. Robyn Koslowitz, is a clinical child psychologist, trauma expert, and author of Post-Traumatic Parenting. She explains how the “trauma app” we download in childhood keeps running in the background of our parenting—and how to finally rewrite it. • How to Do Hard Things and Grow Stronger-Anna Seewald Keynote Talk July 2025
Please note: This episode was originally a live keynote talk and wasn't intended for the podcast, so the audio quality and editing may not meet our usual standards. However, we feel the message is valuable and hope you still find it inspiring. Thanks for your understanding! Anna Seewald invites teens to learn how action creates motivation, not the other way around. She explains how to befriend fear, become your own coach instead of your own critic, do hard things, and build confidence one small brave step at a time. She reveals how embracing challenges and discomfort helps you grow stronger.  With stories from her podcast journey and advice on self-compassion, Anna shows how courage grows after you face fear. The talk ends with a special gratitude letter from her daughter.  LINKS AND RESOURCES Support the podcast by making a donation (suggested amount $15) 732-763-2576 call to leave a voicemail.  [email protected] Send audio messages using Speakpipe. • From Slut-Bashing to Deepfakes: The New Sexual Violence with Leora Tanenbaum
Leora Tanenbaum, author of Sexy Selfie Nation, on how slut-shaming has evolved—and worsened—in the digital age. She unpacks how what was once a whispered insult has become a widespread, inescapable form of abuse—amplified by smartphones, social media, and AI-powered deepfakes. She talks about how “self-sexualizing” can feel like control—but isn’t, the three systemic forces fueling non-consensual sexualization, and how parents can approach these tough conversations with empathy—not shame.  LINKS AND RESOURCES Support the podcast by making a donation (suggested amount $15) 732-763-2576 call to leave a voicemail.  [email protected] Send audio messages using Speakpipe.
