Daniel Allen is a unique blend of expertise in both clinical psychology and strength and conditioning. With a specialisation in preparing candidates for military and special operations service in New Zealand, Dan’s diverse background makes him a fascinating individual to speak with.Dan’s journey began with 6 years as a medic in the NZ Army, before he pursued his dream of becoming a professional Muay Thai and MMA athlete. This passion led him to a decade-long commitment to formal training in clinical psychology, further enriching his perspective on human performance.Throughout his career, Dan has worked with a range of athletes, from Olympians to world-class professionals, and even successful NZSAS candidates. His academic background is equally impressive, including studies in Health Science, Exercise Science, multiple master’s and doctoral programs in psychology, and currently, a 2-year neuropsychology program (to the amusement of his wife!).Dan’s doctoral research is particularly intriguing, focusing on how to reduce PTSD and promote flourishing in military personnel post-deployment, examining key factors like nutrition, sleep, exercise, social support, and leadership. He’s also worked across various psychological domains, including high-school counseling, addiction services, and private practice.Above all, Dan has a passion for understanding the intricate relationship between nutrition, psychology, and performance, and how these elements foster resilience. I’m thrilled to have him on the podcast to dive deeper into these topics and learn from his wealth of knowledge and experience.Dans Website https://www.drdancoach.com/Dans Instagram https://www.instagram.com/drdancoaching?igsh=MXZ6Mmp3ejNmNHN4Yw==Hey Hello Podcast Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/heyhellopodcast_?igsh=cTFpaWZka2I2OWhs&utm_source=qrHey Hello Podcast Email
