  • Episode 220 Being real about Holistic Business with Lacey & Sofia
In today’s episode I am joined by two powerhouse women who have been incredibly wronged by the same person and are on a mission to warn others. Lacey & Sofia were both making their way through their nursing careers when they stumbled across what they thought could be an amazing opportunity. To help others, further their careers, their knowledge, their reach. Turns out the only opportunity there ended up being is a loss of money, mental health & trust. After months of talking about opening clinics across Alberta, on-boarding tons of other hopeful nurses, and having a leader doing the bare minimum at best, opening day came and it was a disaster. Not what either had hoped for. But the disaster didn’t end there. Paycheques were missed, questions left unanswered, bills not paid, and employees who gave up their careers to take a chance at a Holistic Health Clinic were left hanging and on read while the owners galavanted across the world. After a chaotic time with this small business these women were left to fend for themselves with no restitution in sight. No apology. No legal action to be taken. For absolutely wild reasons they were let go… still owed wages. The owners aren’t even Canadians so not much any governing body can do, and not much these women can do either. How is this ok?! How does a trauma coach inflict so much pain and walk away like everything is pretty much fine? How can they carry on knowing how much money, time and energy had been wasted on their promises?! How are people like this getting away with this? Karma. I hope she shows up in this one. Join me, Lacey & Sofia as we chat about their experience working with a Holistic Business in Canada.

  • Episode 219 Being real about the Fentanyl Crisis
In today’s episode I bring my babe Hails back to chat with me about the Fentanyl crisis here in Canada. This is such a hard topic to cover and I do not claim to know a fucking thing but I really want to start the conversation. What is happening in this country that is moving the needle to extreme crisis? Are the current measures in place really it? Are they really helping over the last decade? What are we doing to help now? It’s so sad to see people being captured by this substance and offered little to no support. I’m not sure the policies with safe supply and harm reduction have really made a dent in this crisis. Some of the policies being put at the borders may be helping but what happens when it’s made here and distributed?! Anyone have any idea how we can help this crisis not become wildly out of control?!

  • Episode 218 Being real about Grief
Today’s guest episode is about navigating life through the loss of a spouse. The grief that comes with, the changes/challenges you face as a single parent & how it’s important to work through the uncomfortable and support those living this experience. One I know Courtney doesn’t wish on anyone as she unfortunately has learned first hand what it’s like to lose a husband, the father of her children and have to navigate that while going to school chasing her dream. December 20th, 2022 their lives changed forever when Pete was in an accident he unfortunately lost his life from. Courtney walks me through that day of the accident, the following weeks and how the years have been as she moved along this journey to finding parts of her old self. She shares incredible insight on how couples should have the hard talks about death and what each other would want if the unfortunate time comes when a funeral needs to be planned. Get to know what’s important to them and try hard to not let the little things like socks on the floor get to you because at the end of the day it’s minor. She blew me away when she said one of the things she holds onto are the survivors who got to walk away and live their lives. 4 people could have been lost that day but 3 got to go home and she finds the beauty in knowing they have a chance at life. Told you she is extremely selfless person. Now Pete. In memory of you my dude. Pete was such a kind yet quick witted guy. Laid back but also such a hard worker. He immediately took on the father role for Courtney’s daughter and watching them get married and have their son was truly such a beautiful story to watch. I feel absolutely honoured to have captured that love for them over the years as they allowed me into these special moments of their lives. Fromliterally day one of them I began my photography journey and I just knew then, their story was going to beautiful. I’m really sorry and sad to see it won’t be forever but Pete will never be forgotten and he will live on through his memory and the family who loves him so much ❤️ Please have a listen and make sure to check in on our friends babes.

  • Episode 217 Being real about the Covid Vax
In today’s episode, my wonderful guest Jamie walks me through her experience getting the Covid BEEEEP. Leading up to it, as we all know, Ontario was one of the most dystopian places here in Canada. Isolation and fear was at an all time high for many people, on all sides, with very little ability to converse openly about it. Due to this inability to talk to your medical team or anyone about what you were about to get was very difficult. A lot of people went in having zero idea what could happen. And some fearing the worst. Jamie had a balanced approach about getting it and even though she did move forward with it, she accepted everyone had a different choice and respected that. It wasn’t something she wanted to do, but to keep her family afloat she had to. At the time she also worked in a school where pressure to get it was high and she was being watched. After receiving the first one, some things were starting to act a bit weird. After the second one she passed out… and then she got covid and her ailments became much MUCH worse. To the degree where she has to focus on her health non stop to prevent further damage and has to plan and sacrifice certain things, like working, to be able to ensure she lives. Join us today and she walks me through what being an Ontarian during the pandemic was like and what led her to getting the BEEP, how it went down and what she is dealing with today. Keeping it vague since I’ve been getting community guidelines for this episode… apparently it’s 2022 all over again.

  • Episode 216 Being Real about Botox Injury Part 3
Oh she’s just “panicking” seems to be the common answer among all three of the guests in this series. Laura decided to give Botox a try at the beginning of January and was in emergency under a month later with doctors who saying all her tests came back clear and she must just be panicking. I am not sure how this is such a miss with all of these experiences and how looping back to Botox isn’t even a thought. Specially when these women are coming to you stating it could be. Join myself and Laura as she shares the lead up to her appointment and the medical chaos train she was taken on.One she is currently healing from, on the mend and ready to share her story so more women have informed consent!
