We just got back from Kentucky and I needed to debrief with my bestie so here we are 🐴
Dani has been behind the scenes at Running Springs for almost two years now and a lot of you have been asking about her so we figured it was time to bring her back on. We talk through how we met back when I was 16 through my old show horse Kalvin, how she ended up moving to Tennessee, and what she actually does to keep this whole operation from falling apart.
Then we get into the Kentucky horse show deep dive because there was a lot to unpack. I showed three completely different horses in the same show and we break down what that is actually like, how Denver's first western pleasure class went, what Aaron discovered about Kennedy that kind of changed everything for us, and the very real differences between riding Hollywood, Denver, and Kennedy back to back. Piaffe in a western pleasure warm up pen. We did that.
We also get into why western pleasure is actually a fantastic entry level discipline, and I break down the new AQHA level system for anyone who has been confused by the shift from novice to levels one, two, and three.

Stephanie is back on Katching Up With Katie and we have a lot to cover. We start with the story of how Katie got double barreled by Bobbi while trying to draw blood on a sick Rikki, which resulted in a bruise so bad that everyone on the property now has a photo of her butt. It is exactly what it sounds like.
Then we get into viewer questions for Stephanie, talking through three months at Running Springs, who her favorite horses are, and what it is actually like starting a stud colt versus a gelding or filly. Wally gets a full segment because he deserves it.

Getting back in the show pen as adults has been WAY more emotional than I expected 🐴💕
In this episode of Katching Up With Katie, my best friend Becca joins me to talk all about our first horse show back after years away from competing. From AQHA confusion and horse show memories to childhood horse chaos, and balancing horses with real adult life… we covered a little bit of everything.
We dove into what it’s like returning to the show world with zero pressure, how different showing feels as adults, and some of the funniest horse show stories from when we were kids. Plus… y’all KNOW we had to end things by reacting to some absolutely wild AI-generated headlines and photos about me 🤣

We are back from Ocala and there is a lot to catch up on 🐴
Rachel got bucked off her horse and fractured her transverse process. Matt shares the story of how he proposed to his wife while recovering from back surgery. And somehow in the middle of all of that we made it to Florida for Katie's first horse show back in nearly a decade.
We talk through the whole Ocala trip including meeting Hollywood for the very first time the day before showing, winning two circuit championships, visiting Jack and Gretchen at the mini show, and what it felt like to walk back into the show pen after so long. We are back and my voice is barely holding on but we are pushing through because there is a LOT to catch up on 😅
First things first, Ocala is one week away and there is a mystery horse I am showing that y'all do not know about yet. Plus Denver just went and won his first class back fresh off breeding season like it was nothing, and Penelopey might be making her riding debut while we are there. No big deal. Just a lot happening.

We talk through everything going on with Maggie including the laminitis update, why we chose Gracie over a nurse mare, and where things stand now.
