Power today. Gone tomorrow.

There is a saying that absolute power corrupts absolutely.

What I want to talk about today, I don’t think is absolute power.
It’s something else.

It’s an illusion of power.

THE FAMILY WE USED TO KNOW
When I was growing up, family wasn’t just the people who lived in your house.
Family was much bigger.
There were grandparents.
Aunties.
Uncles.
Cousins.
Neighbours.
All were family and they were all around us.

Today
Family is becoming something like a long distance relationship.
Where do we go from here?

Have we lost our sense of decency?
When did modesty become old-fashioned and showing everything become the norm?
From pyjamas and bonnets in public to revealing fashion, wedding dresses and the pressure to look forever young, I wonder, have we lost our sense of dignity, privacy and appropriateness?

There is beauty in every age.
There is beauty in being feminine.
There is beauty in being masculine.
There is beauty in modesty.
And there is beauty in keeping some things private.
