Adam and Kayleen Stillman share their experience inside the World Mission Society Church of God, also known as WMSCOG. Kayleen was first approached on a college campus, and Adam joined after the couple met. Together, they spent years immersed in a community they believed held the truth.They dive into their experiences around parenting, finances, holidays, and the group’s end-times beliefs. When Kayleen began researching the church’s history, she found information that made her question everything. But leaving wasn’t something they were immediately able to do together.

Esperanza was a successful young woman working at an NBC-affiliated television station when she was introduced to the World Mission Society Church of God through a man she met online. Searching for faith, family, and belonging, she quickly became devoted to a religious organization that taught the world was coming to an end. Within months, Esperanza had walked away from her career, devoted nearly every waking hour to the church, and been encouraged to surrender her entire paycheck.
Things took an even darker turn when church leaders arranged her marriage to an abusive man she barely knew. Esperanza shares disturbing allegations of surveillance, reproductive control, and manipulation and abuse within her marriage, along with the extraordinary journey that eventually led her to question everything she believed.
