Wellness Series Pt. 4 - WellWay Director of Health Services Lauren Schultheis on Integrative Nutrition

    2024/08/21 | 46 mins.
Lauren Schultheis of WellWay in Plymouth MN joins us today to discuss integrative nutrition.

She gives us tips on health and wellness from a holistic point of view - reminding us how our entire body is connected and her approach to helping clients involves taking a look at the entire body as one system rather than treating the body as separate systems.

Lauren is a Registered Dietitian and the director of health services at her clinic and company called WellWay - a wellness center in Plymouth, Minnesota.

We discuss how her career came together, starting at Lifetime Fitness, then eventually transitioning to opening her own business with her husband and business partners and how they have expanded this to multiple different states with over 200 employees.

I loved our conversation today because she gives really practical tips on how to be confident in the workplace, brave and bold as an entrepreneur, and balancing all of this while being a mom.

Listen in to hear how her own health journey really shaped the future of her career path.

This episode is great for women who are navigating the career world and want to find ways to weave in their passion for health as well.

Wellness Series Pt. 3: Registered Dietitian and Integrative Health Coach - Kylie Churnetski

    2024/08/13 | 36 mins.
After overcoming chronic and autoimmune disease issues, Kylie found a way to heal holistically.

After the experiences she had in the traditional Western Medicine journey, Kylie sought out finding a holistic approach to wellness and health that was catered especially to her.

This motivated her to go to college to get her degree as a Registered Dietitian and Integrative Health Coach and now is working with women to heal themselves naturally.

She finds her work rewarding where she can pay it forward with the help she offers to women. Since she went through a rough health journey herself, she can relate to women on a much deeper level.

Today we talk about how she got this career and also what she can offer to her clients.

Wellness Series Pt. 2: Acupuncturist Shannon Evans of Sundays Acupuncture

    2024/07/30 | 47 mins.
Shannon Evans is a licensed Acupuncturist and owner of Sundays Acupuncture in Kirkland, Washington.

I connected with her initially on TikTok because she shares so much valuable content on her TikTok page regarding holistic health tips.

Personally, I love acupuncture  to help with acute issues and with understanding more about the connection throughout our entire body. Each system and each part of our body is connected together and acupuncture is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is something I love learning about because it almost helps give me a definition of what is connected to the ailment I am experiencing.

I love this quote defining Acupuncture: "Acupuncture helps nudge your body and mind over time to calm the overactive sympathetic nervous system—promoting the body’s innate healing."

Today we talk about fasting for women and cold plunging, the vibration and energy of food, how to cycle synch.

    Other topics:
    Fevers
    Birth Control
    Masculine vs Feminine
    Working Matrix for Corporate Positions
    Differences between MD and Acupuncturist
    The Body Keeps the Score
    Reasons to go to Acupuncture:
Pain or Chronic Pain alternatives to pharmaceuticals
    Hormone Balancing
    Digestion
    Anxiety and Depression
    Asthma and Allergies
    More!

Shannon and I really agree on the fact that any issues that we have may be "common" but are not normal. And often times when we bring these things to a doctor, we get written off because it is nothing they can define, but Acupuncture can address the reasoning behind these things (say imbalance or blurriness) and eventually get to the root of it.

Shannon loves working on the connection of psycho-spiritual work and how that manifests in the body.

Wellness Series Pt. 1: Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Cassie Wilder of Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center

    2024/07/23 | 35 mins.
Today we have Dr. Cassie Wilder with us - the owner of Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center & a Naturopathic Doctor of Medicine!

We are kicking off my health series where I am interviewing women in the health care space - but more so in the wellness and Eastern Medicine space.

If you know me, you know that I am a mostly crunchy gal who seeks holistic health options in every way. I have deliberately found ways to be healthy using a more Eastern Medicine approach vs. an Allopathic Medicine approach and it has worked very well for me. That does not mean I don't respect  Western Medicine methods, I just think there are more holistic routes available.

Dr. Cassie Wilder offers Naturopathic Medicine at her clinic in the Western Twin Cities area of MN. She focuses on finding the ROOT CAUSE instead of just putting a band-aid on one issue.

I loved this discussion because she shares what her clinic offers, how she chose this route of medicine, and why this can be a great career for women.

She also shares with us some "Crunchy" things we should be considering in our lifestyle.

"Her passion is empowering her patients through education, understanding, and support through their healing journey." This truly comes thru in this episode.

If you are in the Twin Cities area, check out her new space in Wayzata for possible the MOST aesthetically pleasing doctor's visit you have ever had!

Some services she offers (not all of them listed below):

    Infusion Therapy
    In-Depth Medical Assessments
To get a 360° view of your health
    Specialty Laboratory Testing
    Nutrient Infusions
    Integrative Medicine Treatment Plans
    1:1 Health Coaching Sessions
Online Access to Labs and Medical Records
    Referrals to Specialists if Necessary

Common symptoms that could bring you to Dr. Cassie's office:
