    The Kalye Interview Part 2

    2026/09/11 | 1h 54 mins.
It’s been nearly two years since Christian from Kalye first sat down with me for one of he very first episoes on the pod, and a lot has changed since then!

If you’re new to Kalye or want the full origin story, definitely go back and listen to Episode 1. In this episode, we pick up with Christian after his return from a long hiatus and the revitalization of the brand, including bringing Jake and myself into the fold!

Christian has gotten a reputation for being someone who puts content creators at the center of his brand, so we talk about whether that perception actually bothers him.. or if he lean ino it! We also revisit the conversation around Christian no longer producing his own boards and how he’s shifted his focus more toward the graphics, art, and creative direction behind Kalye.

We also talk about the SoCal fingerboard scene, Christian’s recent trip to the Philippines to host events, the future of Kalye, and what’s next for the brand.

And with Kalye approaching its 10-year anniversary this December, there’s plenty to look back on and plenty to look forward to!

    Podcast Description
In this episode of The Bigspin Podcast, I sat down with Charlie from Chicken Fingerboards. Charlie has been making fingerboards for nearly a decade, but it’s only been within the last couple of years that he’s turned that passion into a full on fingerboard brand..!
Until just a few weeks ago, Charlie was based in Los Angeles before making the move to the Pacific Northwest and now settling in the Seattle area. We talk about growing up and skateboarding in Southern California, his long history of deck making, and what ultimately pushed him to take the leap from making boards to building a brand around them!
We also pick Charlie’s brain about his approach to making decks and what goes into producing some of the highest-quality boards in the scene. We get his thoughts on brand identity and overall aesthetic, what it takes to grow a brand in the modern fingerboarding scene, and his plans to travel and connect with more of the community!

The Find Some Time (Fingerboard Magazine) Interview

    2026/08/21 | 1h 48 mins.
In this episode I sit down with Mitch, the Australian founder of Find Some Time, a Fingerboard magazine built around slowing things down and telling meaningful stories about people and brands who have spent years building up the fb community!
We talk about Mitch’s early days in Fingerboarding and skateboarding, coming from a time when the scene, YouTube, and the internet were all still in their infancy. Throughout his journey, one thing has remained consistent: his positive attitude and his commitment to pushing his local community forward!
We dive deep into the philosophy behind Find Some Time fb mag and why Mitch intentionally chose to take a different approach from the fast-paced world of modern content. The magazine doesn’t follow a monthly release schedule or chase constant output. Instead, it focuses on thoughtful, high-quality stories that give people and their experiences the time and attention they deserve.
Mitch also breaks down the entire process of creating a magazine from start to finish, from finding the stories worth telling to putting together the final product. We talk about what goes into creating something with real substance, get some details about the upcoming second issue, and explore what it means to document and celebrate the incredible people who make up the Fingerboard community.
If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to create something meaningful in a scene that moves so quickly, this one is for you!
