In Acts 2:14โ47, we see the birth of the church and a blueprint for how the church should live today. After the Holy Spirit is poured out, Peter boldly proclaims the gospelโJesusโ life, death, resurrection, and lordship. The message pierces hearts and calls people to a radical response: repentance, baptism, forgiveness of sins, and receiving the Holy Spirit. As thousands respond, a new community is formed, devoted to the apostlesโ teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, prayer, and sharing the gospel. This passage shows that when the gospel is central and the Spirit is at work, God forms a vibrant, missional community.
