Champions can come out of every corner it seems in this sport. Sometimes that's a really great thing, but ufortunately man times, it's anything but. Jones took his title at the perfect time as an example while ducking literally every great heavyweight champion. These are the champions who orchestrated their title reigns.

Many times you are told a set of things to do and the hope is, especially when coming from an authority figure, that things will work out in the end. Well in these cases, doing what you think is right couldn't be any more wrong. Commissions, referees, coaches and even yourself are to blame. These are the times where whether in the UFC or MMA in general, doing the right thing, was actually the wrong thing.

Nearly every fighter that has competed in MMA will face at least one loss in their career. For the more legendary fighters, those losses rarely come, but it's not always against people of their caliber. The UFC these days would have you believe their success story and the billions they are worth today was a straight line progression of wins for the company ever since Dana White took over the promotion as president. If you look at the history though, there are numerous failures and notably, weight classes that straight don't exist anymore, were given up on and brought back later or sent to the shadow realm. These are the weight classes the UFC gave up on at one time or another.
