Barney uses this relic to figure out who Robin was obsessing over in the song. Ted tries to figure out if his new date is a Dobler or a Dahmer. Jen laughs harder at an email contributor than she's laughed since Murder Train.

Barney lives vicariously through Ted's relationship with a 20 y/o. Robin is stung by the effects of wearing her engagement ring. Lily and Marshall find romance in a leather wrist cuff and mom jeans.

Barney and Robin contend with Robin Sr., Ted and Lily contend with mixed feelings about the upcoming wedding and motherhood respectively....Marshall contends with confetti.

The big conclusion to Barney's final play is a proposal to Robin. The new GNB building is open and Ted is the toast of the party, but none of his friends make it because Barney is with Robin and Marshall and Lily finally get an overnight without Marvin.

The episode leans heavy into Silence of the Lambs metaphors whereby all characters interact with their Pit Person....except Barney who is silenced by a jinx.
