From my talk given at River of Life - April 12, 2025:
God is the God of Rebirth – He brings life from what is cut away, restores what was lost, and renews us through every season.
Scripture Highlights
- Isaiah 43:19 – 'I am doing something brand new...'
- Ezekiel 37:14 – 'I will put my Spirit in you and you will live.'
- John 7:38 – 'Rivers of living water will flow from within them.'
- Lamentations 3:22-23 – 'His mercies are new every morning.'
- Joel 2:25 – 'I will restore the years the locust has eaten.'
- Psalm 126:4 – ‘The God who restores or Answers’ Adonai Meshiv.
- Romans 12:2 – 'Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.'
Key Points
- Rebirth often starts with something being cut away.
- God works in spiritual seasons – winter, spring, summer, and fall.
- Spring reminds us that what was dormant can bloom again.
- Rahab and the dry bones show God’s power to redeem and revive.
- Healing sometimes begins with repentance – a turning toward God.
- Renewal is not a one-time event, but a way of life.
Reflection Questions
1. Where might God be growing something new in you?
2. What feels like winter, and can you trust Him for spring?
3. Where do you need to trust God for new growth?
4. Is there anything you need to release or repent of to embrace renewal?
