When we pray, our temptation is to make our prayer lives revolve around us. But in Jesus' model for prayer, we see that we start with the Father, worshipping Him and glorifying Him.

As we walk with The Lord we need to check our hearts regularly. Jesus calls for heart-checking, even in our righteous-like behaviour. Are we praying in a way that leads us and others to Christ or to ourselves?

In sin all we can expect is death. There is no other way forward for us apart from death. But in Jesus, in Him and His resurrection we find life eternal. Just as He rose, so we too will one day rise.

Jesus, The Son of God, faces the consequence of death for our sin. The weight of this moment cannot be misunderstood. The Son of God faces the wrath of the Father on our behalf.
