  • Sarah Rose Wants You To Know This
Listing Sarah Rose’s accolades is enough to make anyone feel a little sheepish about their own output into the world, but the Sydney-based disability advocate isn’t here to cover herself in glory. Sarah was born with the most common type of dwarfism, achondroplasia, but her disability has never held her back. Be it competing (three times) in the Paralympic Games, and winning a bronze medal in swimming, becoming a mum (twice now), or transferring the lessons she learnt as an athlete to the wider world of advocacy. Sydney-based Rose uses her platforms - social media, a podcast and most recently a children’s book - to promote the visibility of, and understanding around, Australians living with a disability - which is something that affects one in five Aussies. Here, she shares how disability played into her - and society’s - expectations of fertility, falling pregnant via IVF and becoming a mum-of-two. You can follow Saah on Instagram at @sarkaterose and you can find Sarah’s delightful children’s book ABC Disability online here, and in all good book stores. • Jesinta Franklin On The Good Bits Of Parenthood That No One Talks About
Jesinta Franklin has found a new kind of happiness in the post-baby era of motherhood. The Gold Coast-based mum-of-two has always been open about how challenging she found that newborn stage (also, during Covid!), but here Jesinta also shares the lesser-talked-about positive bits about being a mum. While maintaining her entrepreneur and modelling careers, Jesinta opens up about how her approach to motherhood has changed as her kids approach school-age, and how she tries to chase down joy in the everyday. You can follow Jesinta Franklin on Instagram @jesinta_franklin, and find out more about Your Reformer here. • Maz Coote On Why Proactive Fertility Testing Is The Future O
Maz Coote is the founder/owner of successful beauty and lifestyle PR firm, Coote Agency, but it was her less-than-ideal experience with her own fertility that inspired her to co-found a new at-home hormone testing company, called When. Not many women start a bio-medical testing company after doing egg freezing, but Maz is anything but average. Here, she shares what she learnt along the way, and why falling pregnant naturally was, surprisingly, always part of her plan. You can follow Maz on Instagram at @mazzycoote, her agency at @coote.agency and When at @whenfertility. Please rate, review, subscribe, and share this episode with your friends. • Kate Lancaster On What They Don’t Tell You About Egg Freezing
Egg freezing is becoming more popular, and with good reason. Women are delaying starting a family, and the process of egg freezing can seem like a really smart insurance plan for your future fertility. But what does it actually involve? How do you prepare for it? And how does it help your chances of falling pregnant ‘naturally’? Sydney-based brand consultant, podcaster, and Substack author Kate Lancaster shares the reality of freezing her own eggs at the age 33—and how she feels about her fertility now, one year on from finalising the process. You can follow Kate on Instagram at @katelancaster, subscribe to her Substack The Vanity, and find her on Tiktok at @beautyeditor.
