  • Episode 187 - Apple Recap Impossibly Cool
    It’s an all new That Real Blind Tech Show as the gang of Allison, Brian, Ed, and Jeanine are all back together for the first time in awhile.   We kick the show off discussing the recent reunion between the Boss and Courtney Cox at the U.S. Open.   Is it a sign that the Apocalypse is near now that they are turning Mt. Sinai in to a tourist hot spot?       If you are reading these show notes on the toilet, here is why it may not be good for your health!   Apple has released the RC versions of Mac OS Tahoe, iOS 26, and others. Jeanine shares her experiences running the betas of iOS 26 and Mac OS Tahoe from a VoiceOver user perspective.   We then dive in to our thoughts about the Apple Awe Dropping event. We discuss the one thing missing from the Apple event, A.I. We then move to discussing the launch of the iPhone Air. Next up we discuss the new iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. And then there’s the regular iPhone 17, we give it its do amount of time. Centerstage is coming to the iPhone for all you Selfie experts out there. Liquid Glass is coming to all the new devices, will it be the first thing you turn off? The new higher end phones will come with a Vapor Chamber, what the heck is a Vapor Chamber?    Apple has launched the Apple Watch Ultra 3. Also being released is the Apple Watch Series 3. All the new Watches will be able to detect Hypertension. And of course Watch Series 11 will also be released.   Apple launches the Air Pods Pro 3, but will they actually connect to the device you want them to? The new Air Pods 3 offer Live Translation and built in health features.   Apple announced a bunch of new accessories including a new MagSafe Battery specifically for the iPhone 17 Air.     It’s an all new That Real Blind Tech show as Allison, Brian, David, and Jeanine are back together to talk about little tech along with a tad of A.I. Because why wouldn’t they?   We kick the show off discussing the recent story of a florida man being captured on his Ring Doorbell being attacked by a bear. Drive Through Windows.   TSA has banned some new items from being carried on to a plane, but what is more impressive is some of the items you can take on a plane with you.   We then discuss the Ally Solos Glasses which were recently announced.   We then discuss the fascinating story about where do Waymos go when they are not driving passengers? They have to go somewhere.   Next we discuss the news about Glide not coming to Europe any time soon.   Are A.I. Agents still closer to science fiction than reality? Which leads us in to complaining about stupid articles behind the paywall and then how to get around it.   Blind people get ready to rejoice as Meta is moving ahead with Facial Recognition on their next pairs of Meta Glasses. And on a related note, Meta has released six new pairs of the Meta Oakleys, well actually only six new colors for the lenses and frames.   We then discuss the fun article How to Win friends and Influence ChatBots.   And on a terrifying note, A.I. ransomWare has arrived.   We then discuss the recent announcement between the beta partnership between Be My Eyes and Amtrak. Amtrak has also finally rolled out their new Acela trains, but don’t expect them to get you to your location any faster!   Apple TV Plus has hiked its price to $13 a month. And could you imagine Lift or uBer charging you more for a ride because your phone’s battery is low? It could happen!   Did you know that excessive use of A.I. ChatBots could cause a.I. Psychosis?   A single poison document could leak secret data via ChatGPT.   Microsoft Researchers have revealed the top 40 jobs most in danger due to a.I.   ChatGPT has launched a faster smarter GPT5. ChatGPT5 brings four new personalities that you can choose from. And it’s supposedly the end of bullshit A.I., as ChatGPT will be more honest with you and let you know when it does not know something. We discuss how this act may affect accessibility in the United States.   A new feature in iOS 26 will pause your FaceTime video when someone starts undressing. Will an emergency brain transplant save Siri? iOS 26 will be adding a useful Wifi feature for when you are traveling.   50 years ago a single keystroke at Apple changed the world.   We then get in to our Conference preview as we enter Conference season.
