  • Episode 189 - Brain Fartery
    It’s an all new That Real Blind Tech Show with just Brian and the Ladies. That’s right it’s Allison, Jeanine, and Brian bringing you the latest Assistive Tech news without the dudes. Or well with one dude.   We start off on a somber note mourning the passing of Kiss’es Ace Frehley, and then dive in to the upcoming Laugh For Sight on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Gotham Comedy Club in NYC. For tickets go here.   Our first article we discuss is a fun one as a Brain Fart Scientist explains why NFL players from the ball at the goal line.   We go from a Brain Fart study to a study about why birds poop on certain cars more than others.   We have had a lot of rebrandings this year, but thanks to Maxwell House we may now have the dumbest rebranding of all time!   The Department of Justice once again has decided to shelf any new ADA ruling on Digital Accessibility.   Do you find that you are chronically online? And is it a bad thing?   It’s the end of an era as Tivo sleeps with the fishes as they stop selling dVR’s.   Roku’s new Voice Assistant can answer questions about what you are watching, but yeah how is Roku’s accessibility?   Since it has been a few weeks since we last recorded, and once again pardon the audio on this episode, as someone had a brain fart and hit the wrong keyboard shortcut causing us to be unable to record on multi-track, but we dive in to all the new products that Amazon announced. The conversation then strolls in to Alexa Plus.   Open A.I. wants ChatGPT to be your future operating system. Would you want that?   Figure A.I invented a humanoid robot that can do the dishes, fold your clothes, and tidy up a room.   The Albanian Government has appointed the first A.I. official to its Government.   Is your electric bill insanely high? Maybe you should check how close you are living to a Data Center. Which leads us in to discussing how we are using A.I.   We then get Jeanine’s opinion of Mac OS Tahoe and how it is running with VoiceOver. We then discuss the new M5 Macs that were just announced, and the rumored release in late 2026 of the first touch screen Mac.   We briefly discuss some new products we got and that will be arriving soon.     It’s an all new That Real Blind Tech Show, and for the first time in awhile, it is just the boys are back in town, as Brian, David, and Ed discuss the latest tech news.   After a little house cleaning we kick the show off with the First Annual That Real blind Tech Show Most Delusional Asshole of the Year Award!   Next we discuss the serious VoiceOver bug that has been affecting some users during the installation of iOS 26, and that rolls us in to the installation bug affecting some Samsung TalkBack users with their latest update.   Neon, the viral app that pays people to record their phone calls goes offline less then 24 hours after it became a hit.   We then discuss how far a smarter Siri is behind every other company according to an article in Bloomberg.   Google has launched Search Live. Big deal or just more of what we already have?   We then discuss to upgrade to Alexa Pro or not to.   Brian then discusses heading down to the M-Enabling Conference that he will be speaking on a panel  at from October 6th to the 9th.   We then dive in to all the announcements that came out of Meta Connect. We first discuss the huge news that Meta will be opening up their Smart Glasses to Developers. We got the new Meta Ray Bans version 2 with double the battery life. Next meta announced the new Oakley Vanguard glasses with louder volume. And finally the third pair of new glasses that Meta announced gives us the exciting new Meta Ray Ban Display. So why would any blind person why to buy the Meta Display? Well they come with a built in screen reader and other accessibility settings! We wrap up our Meta Connect coverage discussing why your Meta Glasses still may never replace your iPhone.   So what’s next for Meta?   • Episode 187 - Apple Recap Impossibly Cool
    It’s an all new That Real Blind Tech Show as the gang of Allison, Brian, Ed, and Jeanine are all back together for the first time in awhile.   We kick the show off discussing the recent reunion between the Boss and Courtney Cox at the U.S. Open.   Is it a sign that the Apocalypse is near now that they are turning Mt. Sinai in to a tourist hot spot?       If you are reading these show notes on the toilet, here is why it may not be good for your health!   Apple has released the RC versions of Mac OS Tahoe, iOS 26, and others. Jeanine shares her experiences running the betas of iOS 26 and Mac OS Tahoe from a VoiceOver user perspective.   We then dive in to our thoughts about the Apple Awe Dropping event. We discuss the one thing missing from the Apple event, A.I. We then move to discussing the launch of the iPhone Air. Next up we discuss the new iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. And then there’s the regular iPhone 17, we give it its do amount of time. Centerstage is coming to the iPhone for all you Selfie experts out there. Liquid Glass is coming to all the new devices, will it be the first thing you turn off? The new higher end phones will come with a Vapor Chamber, what the heck is a Vapor Chamber?    Apple has launched the Apple Watch Ultra 3. Also being released is the Apple Watch Series 3. All the new Watches will be able to detect Hypertension. And of course Watch Series 11 will also be released.   Apple launches the Air Pods Pro 3, but will they actually connect to the device you want them to? The new Air Pods 3 offer Live Translation and built in health features.   Apple announced a bunch of new accessories including a new MagSafe Battery specifically for the iPhone 17 Air. And on a related note, Meta has released six new pairs of the Meta Oakleys, well actually only six new colors for the lenses and frames.   We then discuss the fun article How to Win friends and Influence ChatBots.   And on a terrifying note, A.I. ransomWare has arrived.   We then discuss the recent announcement between the beta partnership between Be My Eyes and Amtrak. Amtrak has also finally rolled out their new Acela trains, but don’t expect them to get you to your location any faster!   Apple TV Plus has hiked its price to $13 a month. Psychosis?   A single poison document could leak secret data via ChatGPT.   Microsoft Researchers have revealed the top 40 jobs most in danger due to a.I.   ChatGPT has launched a faster smarter GPT5. ChatGPT5 brings four new personalities that you can choose from. And it’s supposedly the end of bullshit A.I., as ChatGPT will be more honest with you and let you know when it does not know something.
