Ep. 40 Spin around this Earth with a Diminished Chord

    2026/04/15 | 19 mins.
    Fan Mail Portal
Hiya, Im running off to teach workshops and singing and schoirs at a singing and dance retreat in Byron Bay. So Fun! And Im squeezing this episode in before I go!

    We sing these words:
    With these chords:
    || G             | %             | E dim                | %             |
    | D              |        %      | G                       | %             ||
    It’s all right here,
just close your eyes and see,
    I don’t know the gravity,
That keeps you holding on to me,
    I’ll spin around this earth,
I’ll hold on to all the dirt,
    I’ll find my way through,
and make it back to you.

    a Diminished Triad Chord is a 1 flat 3, flat 5.
This is a tricky thing to chat about, because there exists a fully diminished and half diminished seven chord, but for here, I'm just talking about the Triad chord. Just the three notes.
    Thanks so much for listening!
    Lotsa Love!

    Hi there, thanks for listening!
We sing about procrastination. It's all rainy and moody, and my heart says relax but my brain knows it time to sing.
    Off we go!
We sang Procrastination in G, going up to the minor 3 chord, the 4 chord and getting to the 5 chord every now and then.
Then we head on to the Mixolydian Mode.
    5 6 7 1 2 3 4 5.
    Or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, flat 7 8.
I'm playing the chords C Major and Fminor.

    Thanks heaps for listening.
    Thats all.

    36. Times Tables like you've never heard them before

    2026/02/16 | 26 mins.
    Fan Mail Portal
    So,
I was feeling down on the weekend. And so I took myself on a walk. And the more I walked, the more I found myself singing the times tables to music theory.
I can't really say how I got there, but this is where we've ended up.
Needless to say, I felt better after the walk. So, wether it was the fresh air, or the times tables, no one can say.

    In this episode, We sing
the 3 times tables to the F Major scale.
    Ascending:
    3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21
    Descending
    21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36, 39
The Vague chords I'm playing are:
    F | Amin | Bb | C | Dmin | Bb | Amin | F |
    I know.
    Pretty weird.

    Then we sing the
4 Times tables to the G Minor Pentatonic scale.
    4 , 8, 12, 16, 20, 24
    28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48
    Woo!

    THEN
We sing the the 6 times tables to my little Mixolydian melody I made up in 6 / 8 feel,
    and the chords are
    | A | A/G |
    Mixolydian is
    1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, flat 7, 8
    6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36
    42, 48, 54, 60, 66
"I don't know what you've been told, but I'm gonna go down, My Own road. "
I cant really say when my times tables album is coming out, but if you LOVE this, you should let me know, cause right now, I feel pretty funny funny.
Is it ha ha funny or funny funny?
    Anyhoo.
    Thanks for listening,
    you're fun.
