Mom Delights Homemaking and Homeschooling

Most reading struggles aren’t due to flawed children, just materials used at the wrong level.
But how to we find that level?
For years I struggled with this, until I discovered the McGuffey readers and needed to know how to place each child in the different books. What I found I want to share with you today.

Teaching your child to be a good writer is easier than you may think. All it takes is immersion in good writing via classic literature and the McGuffey readers using some time-honored learning techniques and practicing to build confidence. Not a great writer yourself? I have a remedy for that!

I’m the mother of 15, so I’ve never had time to mess around or extra money laying around just waiting to be spent on flashy books that may never be used.
(I think I see you nodding.)
So, I got a little excited years ago when I finally decided to go back to the “old paths”; to the old times when real education happened in one-room school houses (which closely resembled our own motley crew of assorted children).
And the excitement has never waned, so if I seem a little zealous in this post, I beg your pardon in advance!
Here goes:
