John Korir set a course record of 2:01:51 to win the Boston Marathon to go back-to-back, while Alphonce Simbu was runner up and previous winner Benson Kipruto was third. Sharon Lokedi was first place in 2:18:51 with Loice Chemnung in second place and Mary Ngugi-Cooper in third. Elite Australians in action included Izzy Batt-Doyle running 2:25:06, Lisa Weightman in 2:32:41 and Pat Tiernan 2:09:59. Boston Marathon Results

Sebastian Sawe breaks the Marathon World Record and becomes the first human to run a legitimate marathon in under two hours at the London Marathon, rewriting the books in 1:59:30. Close behind him was Yomif Kejelcha in his marathon debut running 1:59:41, with Jacob Kiplimo third in 2:00:08, which was also under the previous world record.

Tigist Assefa defended her crown in a women’s only World Record time of 2:15:41, ahead of Hellen Obiri in 2:15:53 and Joyciline Jepkosgei 2:15:55.
Australians included Tim Vincent running 2:09:41 for 17th and Liam Boudin in 2:12:55 for 23rd. Official Results

Caden Shields won this year’s Ballarat Marathon in 2:18:06 over Tom Do Canto and Jacob Cocks. Ellie Pashley won in a course record of 2:30:47 over Donve Viljoen and Radka Kahlefeldt.
Brett Robinson won the Half Marathon in a course record time of 1:03:58 ahead of Ryan Gregson and Nathan Stoate. Gen Gregson won in 1:10:49 ahead of Danette Sheehan and Nicola Sheridan.
Brayden Noonan won the 10k in 29:58 ahead of Andre Waring and Will Lovett, while Sinead Diver won in 33:22 ahead of Tara Palm and Katherine Dowie
Jack Rayner took out the Men’s Elite 5k in 14:07 ahead of Ben Stevens and Ben Mornane, Georgia Grgec won in 16:08 ahead of Stella Radford and Stephanie Kelly.
Jude Thomas won the National Road Mile Championship in 4:03.6 to hold off Connor Whitely and Luke Shaw, Jaylah Hancock-Cameron 4:26.7 ahead of Georgia Griffith and Izzy Thorton-Bott. Official Results

Linden Hall took out the fastest lap at Run The Tan with 11:31, equalling Jess Hull’s 2023 record, ahead of Cara Feain-Ryan and Izzy Thorton-Bott. Callum Davies ran 10:31 to take out the win, ahead of Ed Marks and Jonathan Harris. Michael Roeger ran the fastest in the Para Division in 10:53, as did Annabelle Colman in 13:07 Results
