In today's episode, however, Alycia discusses the limitations of science, emphasizing its inability to test the supernatural or make moral and aesthetic judgments. • Say What?: Deconstructionism Revisited | Ep. 25
In this episode of the "Hey Alycia!" podcast, Emily and Alycia introduce a new series entitled "Say What!" In this series, Alycia will respond to feedback and further questions she has received regarding a previous episode. The questions that launched this "Say What" series are from Bob. A summary of his criticisms about Ep. 23 ("What is Deconstructionism") is as follows: "Hey Alycia, I struggle with your analogy that any faith built on a partial puzzle is incomplete and does not satisfy. There is so much variance as to what the Bible actually teaches. How is it that learned people, many with advanced degrees in theology and knowledgeable in the language, culture and history of the Bible can come to diametrically opposed perspectives? Many who ascribe to Reformed Theology (Calvinism) would proclaim (and have lots of Bible verses to back this up) that it is God and God alone who decides who is saved. On the other hand, those who adhere to an Open Theistic perception will claim (and have lots of Bible verses to back this up) that God doesn't necessarily know who will ultimately accept Christ as their savior. Well, I submit that Christians have decided by way of hundreds if not thousands of different denominations to as much believe what they do--there is so much division within the Church on significant matters of fundamental doctrine. Nevertheless, give anyone who had basic algebra a math problem, and you'll always get the same answer. Right now, Christian faith appears to be little more than a compilation of one's opinions, hopes, aspirations, knowledge and experiences."   Have a question about a previous episode? • Why Are There So Many Denominations in Christianity? | Ep. 24
Why are there so many denominations in Christianity? Doesn't this diversity compromise the truth of Christianity? In this episode, Alycia defines and explores how the existence of denominations stems from diverse interpretations of certain biblical texts. However, they do not undermine the central truths that unify the Church. Submit your questions here: https://apologetics.org/hey-alycia/ Did this podcast help you?
