    🎟️ FC 27 Pre-Orders, FUTTIES Luck & FIFA Equity Shelved! 💗🎮 | FUT in Review #740

    2026/08/04 | 29 mins.
Welcome back to FUT in Review #740! Today, Grandpapa Mac (Chris) and John Kirkham (John K) take over the studio to break down the summer FUTTIES grind, honor the passing of legendary Italian defender AC Milan icon Franco Baresi, and run an extensive, lawyer-reviewed cost-benefit analysis on the newly announced EA Sports FC 27 Pre-Order editions.
We break down the financial value and gameplay content unfiltered:
FIFA’s Shelved Equity Deal: Football fans won! FIFA’s controversial plan to sell off a commercial stake in the World Cup to private equity investors has officially been shelved following universal backlash. The panel breaks down the widening rift between UEFA and FIFA, asking if European football might eventually break off into its own standalone body.

The Pink Card Grind: With summer in full swing and Season 8 XP flowing freely, the hosts debate whether anyone on Earth has actually packed the exact 99-rated FUTTIES card they wanted. From grinding the Frenkie de Jong SBC to evolutions of silver icons like Roberto Baggio and Ruud Gullit, we discuss why late-cycle Ultimate Team should be about fun, nostalgia, and past-and-present squad builds.

Tribute to Franco Baresi: The crew pauses to pay tribute to the late, great Franco Baresi. We reminisce about Channel 4’s iconic Golaccio 1990s Italian football broadcasts and discuss how EA’s Icon cards help younger generations appreciate the legendary defenders who defined an era of lower-scoring, tactical Serie A perfection.

EA Sports FC 27 Pre-Order Breakdown: We crunch the numbers across the three announced editions: Standard, Ultimate, and the limited-time Ultimate Plus (available until October 31st). Evaluating cash-equivalent values for 7-day early access (launching September 18), FC Points, Season Passes (Seasons 1–5), and exclusive Evolution slots, we help casuals, core players, and hard-core grinders decide which edition delivers the highest return on investment.

EA Sports FC 27 Gameplay Deep Dive! 🎮⚡ | FUT in Review #739

    2026/07/30 | 41 mins.
Welcome back to FUT in Review #739! Today, John and Homer (Graeme) reunite after a well-deserved one-week breather to break down the first official gameplay details released by EA Sports. Moving away from pure real-life football, the duo dissects the deep-dive pitch notes and six-minute trailer to explore what competitive FUT 27 mechanics will actually look like on the pitch.
We break down the technical updates and system shifts unfiltered:
The Manual Defending Overhaul: EA is attempting to dial back AI-controlled defenders in competitive play. AI teammates will no longer win possession outright for you or boast extreme interception radiuses; instead, manual input gets a wider reach and better tackles. John and Homer debate whether EA will hold their ground or "patch the life out of it" five weeks in like previous years when the casual player base complains about conceding goals.

The Corner Kick & Crossing Rework: Long-standing short corner metas might finally be challenged. A new camera transition during corners gives players a brief window to trigger "avoidance" mechanics, shield, and manually attack space in the box. Coupled with a complete crossing overhaul that replaces assisted trajectories with space-targeted deliveries, crossing into the box might actually be viable again.

New L1 & R1 Trigger Mechanics: The team breaks down the newest controller additions. By tapping both L1 and R1 (LB & RB) simultaneously, players can now trigger curved runs to exploit spaces behind high-line center-backs. Additionally, EA is capping the distance of manual-triggered runs to prevent unauthentic 80-yard fullback overlaps that force opponents into low-block six-at-the-back systems.

Off-Balance Dribbling & PlayStyles: Powered by physical attributes, elite dribblers will now stumble through shoulder challenges and body bumps without instantly losing control. Plus, EA has narrowed the gap between regular PlayStyles and PlayStyle+ traits to make early-game starter cards far more useful.

Spain Are World Champions! Ferran Torres Strikes MetLife Gold! 🇪🇸🏆 | World Cup Daily #49

    2026/07/20 | 36 mins.
Lionel Messi had zero shots in a World Cup final. Zero. The greatest player in history, in what is most certainly his last World Cup appearance for Argentina, was suffocated so badly by Spain that he barely touched the ball. Spain are world champions, and they won it without Messi having a single attempt on goal.
Welcome back to World Cup Daily #49! Today, the ultimate panel—Shaq, John, Nathan, and James Toland—unites for a historic post-match final breakdown. Broadcasting live after an absolute tactical war at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the crew deconstructs Spain's suffocating mastery, massive refereeing controversies, and the ultimate Americanization of the beautiful game.

A 10-Goal Bronze Madness & The Grand Final Preview! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇫🇷🇪🇸🇦🇷 | World Cup Daily #48

    2026/07/19 | 20 mins.
Welcome back to World Cup Daily #48! Today, John and James Toland return to review a legendary, topsy-turvy goal-fest at the Hard Rock Stadium before shifting focus to tonight's generation-defining grand final in New Jersey!
We break down the historic metrics and touchline systems unfiltered:
The 10-Goal Miami Explosion: England clinches third place at the World Cup after a jaw-dropping 6-4 victory over France. Thomas Tuchel's side stormed into a commanding 4-0 half-time lead courtesy of a Declan Rice stunner, an Ezri Konsa header, and a quick-fire Bukayo Saka brace. Despite a furious second-half onslaught from France, Saka completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot before Jude Bellingham sealed the win with a brilliant individual strike deep in stoppage time.

Historical Records Broken: While France's defense fell apart, their attackers made history. Kylian Mbappé netted a brilliant double, moving him to 22 overall goals to officially pass Lionel Messi as the all-time top scorer in FIFA World Cup history. Meanwhile, Michael Olise registered his seventh assist of the tournament, officially breaking Pelé's legendary single-World Cup record set back in 1970.

The Deschamps Farewell: This chaotic shootout marked the final official match for Didier Deschamps, ending a historic 14-year tenure consisting of 185 matches in charge of Les Bleus. We break down Adrien Rabiot's scathing post-match comments calling out teammates who failed to show up with full focus in the first half.
