What are you seeing, and is your vision coming from God?

Rooted in 1 Samuel 3:1, this message challenges us to examine what shapes our perspective, make room for God’s Word, and seek His vision for our lives.

In this message, we are reminded that it’s possible to hold the Bible in one hand while still holding habits in the other. We can know the Word, attend church, and speak the language of faith while still clinging to patterns, attachments, and behaviors that compete with who God has called us to become.

This message challenges us to examine what we have normalized, release what no longer belongs in our lives, and surrender fully to the God who protects, sustains, and delivers us.

In “The Danger of a Down Shift,” we’re challenged to examine four areas that can quietly pull us away from total dependence on God:
Source — What am I relying on?
Sight — What am I looking at?
Strategy — What is my plan?
Strength — What actually has the capacity to hold me?

In Isaiah 31:1–4, the people of God looked to Egypt for help, trusting in horses, chariots, human strength, and what they could see instead of relying on the Lord.

Before you make your next move, check your source, your sight, your strategy, and your strength. Don’t downshift your faith by trusting something that was never built to carry you.

What do you do when you’re caught between the shift you’re believing for and the hard place you’re currently facing?

Rooted in 2 Kings 20, Pastor Jamal Hegwood reminds us in this message that when Hezekiah received a difficult report, he turned his face to the wall and prayed. 
Sometimes you have to turn away from the noise, the opinions, and what your circumstances are saying so you can turn toward God. The hard place isn’t the end of your story, it may be the place where your prayer produces the shift.

Sometimes we want God to change everything overnight, but what if the process is part of the promise?

In Exodus 23, God tells His people that He would not drive everything out all at once, but “little by little” until they were strong enough to possess the land.
