“Let him lead” can sound like a fight waiting to happen, especially if you’ve seen leadership used as control or heard submission preached like silence. We take a different route. From the jump, we talk about real marriage pain, the slow buildup of offense, and why we refuse to settle for a bad relationship. After 27 years together, we’ve learned that the marriage doesn’t change because one person “wins” a debate. It changes when we get healthier, more honest, and more aligned with God.
We dig into biblical marriage roles with clarity: a husband’s leadership is servant leadership, modeled after Christ, marked by sacrifice, protection, responsibility, and deep listening. A wife’s submission is not weakness, not losing your personality, and never tolerating abuse. It’s a willing posture of trust, honor, and partnership within God’s design. We also talk to strong, independent women who lead at work but feel burned out leading at home, and to couples stuck bumping heads on every decision, from small daily choices to life-shaping calls.
You’ll hear practical language for better communication, why public honor strengthens a marriage, how tone can heal or harm, and why prayer changes the atmosphere. We share what it looks like to trust God while your spouse grows and how to create emotional safety so your home becomes a place of strength, not stress. We also mention our book Better Marriage: Perfect Love for Imperfect Couples, built from our wins, our wounds, and the tools that helped us rebuild.
If this speaks to you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review so more couples can find the conversation. What part do you play when it comes to unity at home?

The conflict is not always about the conflict. Sometimes it is pride trying to stay in control, old wounds looking for a target, or a tone that makes people stop hearing your idea and start bracing for impact. If you keep “bumping heads” with your spouse, coworkers, family, or leaders, we are getting honest about the patterns that create repeated relational tension and the habits that can finally break it.
We start with the hardest question to ask: what part do I play? From there, we talk through how strong personalities can still build a peaceful, fun, and connected marriage when we practice humility, tenderness, and mutual submission. We also unpack a Christian marriage view of leadership that looks like servant leadership: listening well, honoring your spouse, carrying responsibility, and making decisions without ego.
Then we get practical about communication and conflict resolution. Romans 12:18 challenges us to do what depends on us to live at peace, and James 1:19 gives a daily playbook: quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to get angry. We share the tools that actually de-escalate tension, like probing questions, asking permission to share your side, using “I feel” language, and owning your tone with a real apology.
We also address workplace conflict and church culture: how assumptions, secondhand stories, unclear roles, and misalignment can turn good people into constant friction, and what wise leaders do to stop contention before it spreads. If you want to be the thermostat who makes every room healthier, press play, then share this with someone you do life with. Subscribe, leave a review, and send this to a friend who needs peace in their relationships.

Resentment doesn’t usually sound like yelling. It sounds like “I’m fine,” feels like distance on the couch, and shows up as keeping score in your head. Ken and Tabatha Claytor get real about how resentment slowly destroys a marriage, not through one huge betrayal, but through small disappointments that never get processed and eventually turn into emotional coldness.
We talk through personal stories from our own 27-year marriage, including seasons where resentment hid behind silent treatment, avoidance, and even “weaponizing” intimacy. Then we break down the most common triggers we see in marriages everywhere: finances, sex, time demands from work or ministry, and unmet expectations about leadership and support. If you’ve ever felt yourself withdrawing, struggling to make eye contact, or feeling repulsed by touch, we help you name what’s happening and why it matters.
You’ll also get a clear, practical roadmap for how to overcome resentment in a relationship: acknowledge it honestly, stop rehearsing the offense, address issues early, communicate with truth and softness, forgive repeatedly, replace criticism with appreciation, rebuild emotional connection on purpose, pray together, and get counseling or mentorship before things get worse. We ground it all in Scripture, including 1 Corinthians 13:5, “love keeps no record of wrongs,” and we close with a guided prayer to renounce resentment and recommit to your covenant.
If this helped you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs hope for their marriage, and leave a review so more couples can find the tools to heal and rebuild.

Casual faith sounds harmless until it starts reshaping your conscience. We sit down and talk honestly about the fear of the Lord and why it is not panic, paranoia, or an angry-God mindset. For us, it’s reverence, awe, and a real awareness of God’s holiness that shows up most in private, when nobody is watching and no one is clapping for you.
We get practical about what that reverence produces: integrity, quick obedience, humility, and strong guardrails that keep your marriage, your mind, and your leadership from drifting. We share personal stories about early church “reverence moments,” the difference between religious fear and mature holiness, and why Proverbs says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If you’ve ever wondered how good people slowly slide into compromise, we name the small steps that lead there and the safeguards that stop it early.
Then we go to the passages many people skip. We talk about Uzzah touching the ark, Ananias and Sapphira lying about an offering, and what those stories reveal about treating God’s presence as holy instead of common. We also address the online culture of tearing down pastors and churches, the warning in Korah’s rebellion, and what Scripture actually means by blasphemy. We close with a clear list of ways to grow in the fear of the Lord through Scripture, worship, repentance, community, and remembering who God is.

A marriage can be stable on paper and still feel strangely far apart at home. We’re talking about the slow drift: the subtle, gradual disconnect that happens when life gets loud, schedules take over, and the relationship starts running on autopilot. If you’ve ever thought, “Nothing is technically wrong, but something feels off,” this conversation is your wake-up call and your roadmap back.
We get personal about what drift looked like in our own marriage after 27 years, including how stress, travel, shifting health seasons, and changing intimacy needs can create distance without either person meaning to. We break down why couples often hide these struggles, how assumptions spiral when communication goes quiet, and why “good enough” is one of the most dangerous places a relationship can live. We also talk about honoring each other’s different workloads without belittling, because respect fuels emotional safety.
Then we go practical with marriage advice you can use immediately: weekly family meetings with a real agenda, date nights that bring fun back, affection that isn’t only about sex, and honest conversations that repair small hurts before they harden into walls. We also share why faith matters here: when we put God back at the center, we regain perspective, grace, and the power to pivot through every season together. If this helped you, subscribe, share it with a couple you love, and leave a review so more marriages can stop the drift.

About Doing Life with Ken and Tabatha
Hey, what’s up fam. We’re Ken and Tabatha, and we’re so glad you found our YouTube page. We always pray, “God, let the people who need this channel find this channel.” So, if you’re here, you’re an answer to prayer. We have one major goal. We want to help you grow in love with God and grow in love with the people God has placed in your life. The way we do that is simple. We take what we’ve learned and we share it. We’ve been married for 26 years, and we always jokingly say it’s been the best 24 years of our lives. The first two years were pretty bad. We had all the classic problems: silent treatments, weaponized sex, a lack of communication skills, financial pressures, and more. But we learned tools and principles from God’s Word that helped us turn our marriage around. Now we’re happy to say we’re best friends. That’s why people ask us all the time, “Do you have a special anointing for marriage?” And our answer is always the same. No, we just have tools. This channel is our way of paying those tools forward to you, because we really believe that with the right tools, there’s no marriage and no relationship that can’t get better. This is primarily a marriage and relationships channel, but it’s not just that. It’s also a personal growth channel, because we believe when you get better, the marriage gets better. So, get ready to have some fun. We’re going to talk about our highs, our lows, and everything in between. Honestly, you’ll probably learn more from our mess-ups than you will from our mountaintop moments.Enjoy the journey, and share this with somebody, because we believe sharing is caring, and caring is sharing.New episodes every Thursday at 3PM EST.Peace.
