What does it truly mean to believe Jesus at His word?

As we finish John 4, we’re challenged with an important heart question:
Is our faith in Jesus dependent on what He can do for us—or simply on who He is?

In today’s devotional Bible study, we walk through John 4:43–52, the healing of the official’s son, and reflect on a powerful truth: sometimes faith means trusting Jesus before we ever see the evidence.

Through Scripture observation, devotional reflection, and honest conversation, we explore:

Whether signs and wonders should be the foundation of our faith

How urgency can draw us closer to God

What it means to take Jesus at His word—even when healing feels delayed

Why your pace may reveal more about your faith than you realize

How God’s heart remains trustworthy, even in grief and unanswered prayers

I choose to take Jesus at His word, trusting that His authority reaches every place I cannot see. Even before the evidence appears, I believe that His promises are already at work. As I walk forward in faith, I rest in the truth that Jesus is faithful, powerful, and true to what He has spoken.
