GCC Re-Skilling and Up-Skilling with Henry Smith Foundation to get our community back to work
Golden Careers Foundation have been recognised by Her Majesty The Queens representative in Leicestershire and Rutland, Lord Lieutenant Mike Kapur OBE for our most well-known service- delivering culturally specific healthy food and nutrition to the BAME community in Leicester West during the pandemic. GCC takes poverty reduction seriously. Majority of our people are struggling to get back to work due to life changing physical fitness because of Covid-19. Others feels isolated with no hope as they struggle to pay bills and send remittance back to the motherland. Migrants find it hard to reach potential employers. Our community is struggling in all components of deprivation- income, employment, education, health, crime, barriers to housing and services and living environment. Poverty has significant socio-economic impacts on the community. For those lucky enough to be in a job, they were exposed to Covid-19 because of public facing transport jobs such as taxi driving, delivery services and front-line health and factory workers. GCC will assist beneficiaries in thinking outside the box, job security, entrepreneurship, and impact other stakeholders to ‘open up’ their industries to refugees. In the long run, upskilling and reskilling programs can improve employee engagement and retention, attract new talent, and speed up the adoption of new trends within companies.Displayed is a photo gallery of the job fair event/ health sector recruitment event we held…

Getting our community back to work. Awards for all funds
Trust has been built with our beneficiaries because of our long running project delivering food provisions, PPE, and other hygiene materials to our community. GCF find these beneficiaries confide in us over time and tell us about issues affecting them. Reskilling or upskilling is one of the main issues- in general, finding employment for our beneficiaries.GCC takes reskilling very seriously- we realise that reskilling allows employers to maintain their workforce, while also putting employers in more useful positions that likewise benefit the company. After the pandemic, employees, or jobless casualties’ of Covid will still need work, and that work doesn't necessarily need to be in a different industry or company. People need to be thinking about how to expand their skill set. GCC wants to address the problem of finding new approaches to mobilizing our existing talent base.Golden Careers Foundation connected it’s beneficiaries with a forward thinking group of UK Health professionals and helped organise a networking event dubbed ' Leicester meet and greet event Health Professionals'They also say the group discuss pertinent topics that make us thrive as a community - immigration help , life in the UK , health and social care business , agency work , childcare , and many other important issues....Godfrey Mushandu of Ultra Health Care shares more about the inspiration behind this job creation concept.
Welcome to our GOLDEN CAREERS FOUNDATION podcast where we aim to build community confidence. We are not for profit community group whose purposes are aligned in our governing document/constitution.We aim to change lives through community empowerment and build confidence changing negative narratives about our community. We have several projects in the pipeline, including a mapping exercise to investigate anti-social behaviour in migrant families, that will ultimately reveal solutions to such dangers in society such as knife crime and homophobia that families may succumb to, just to name a few.We seek to identify community led initiatives to solve their dire concerns. We welcome interaction on issues raised on this forum to help us all help humanity regain humility. We welcome people of all races, creed, gender or sexuality contribute to our mission to help raise awareness of issues affecting the vulnerable and signposting to the needed help.Helping the community is ingrained in our psyche as GOLDEN CAREERS FOUNDATION! - So remember, this is an interactive group that safely allows members to navigate our page to perhaps find answers to whatever it is they may be battling. Our strong links with the community give us an evidence based focus of the issues arising therefore we would like individual beneficiaries of our work to share their testimonies in our podcast. Our project will bring people together and build strong relationships in and across our community. We are presently seeking funding to help us deliver several project ideas to empower our community.
