Need something to watch this Pride Month or just a Friday night movie?
We’ve got you covered. The best part? None of them will make you cry! Well…a couple might, but not in the way LGBTQ+ films usually do. This Pride Month, we wanted to draw attention to “feel good” queer movies that encapsulate the love, acceptance and safety we all deserve
Films mentioned in this episode:
The Handmaiden (2016)
But I’m A Cheerleader (1999)
Shiva Baby (2021)
All About My Mother (1999)

And stick around for a few honourable mentions!

Mental Health and Horror
For our first episode in two months (), we’ve come back with a bit of a heavy one…mental health representation in horror. Starting with Scream 6 (2023) and working our way back to Psycho (1960), we talk about the negative effects certain representations of mental health in horror films have had.
We’re not mental health experts but two avid horror fans who believe this is an important conversation. While movies of the past can’t be (and shouldn’t always be) erased, what responsibility does the film industry need to shoulder when it comes to the representation of mental health in horror?
Content warning: discussion of mental health and some specific mental health conditions (relative to their portrayal in certain films)
Films/TV shows mentioned in this episode:
Scream VI (2023)
Split (2016)
American Horror Story: Asylum (2011)
Black Swan (2010)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
Psycho (1960)

The Four Pillars of Fandom
Did we ever tell you about the time we went to a My Chemical Concert and danisnotonfire was there?
Yeah, we know that sounds like the plot of fanfiction but that is only one part of what we get into in this episode. Honestly, it would be impossible to cover everything that falls under ‘fandom.’ Instead, we’ve done our best to separate our personal experience and knowledge of fandom into four (mostly) easy-to-consume pillars.
Get ready for the most organised rant you’ve ever heard…
