UK True Crime Podcast

Carradale is a village on the east coast of Kintyre, off the west coast of Scotland and looking over the west coast of the Isle of Aaron in the Firth of Clyde. The harbour at Carradale is sheltered and looks out at the deep waters of Kibrannan Sound and then the towering mountains of Aaron. It is a beautiful, peaceful spot and if you look carefully, you will see a small memorial plaque on the harbour wall, commemorating the crew of the FV Antares, who lost their lives at sea.

In this episode of the UK True Crime Podcast, I look at just what happened to the FV Antares off the coast of Scotland.

But as the messages continued, they became increasingly disturbing, with details emerging that suggested the sender knew far more about her daily life than they should. What began as a series of unwanted communications developed into an invasive campaign that affected every part of Amanda's life, leaving her frightened and struggling to understand who was behind it. When Kenneth Noye faced trial for the murder of 21 year old Stephen Cameron, stabbed to death in front of his 17 year old fiancee Danielle Cable just by the M25 in Swanley, Kent, one of the witnesses was 40 year old Alan Decabral. He had called 999 and tried to follow Noye to record his car registration. Just months later, in the middle of the afternoon Alan Decabral was shot dead in an apparent professional hit in a retail park in Ashford, Kent. Who killed Alan? And why?

True Crime Catch Up is back with a brand-new episode, as I sit down with Stuart Blues, host of the British Murders podcast, for episode two of our new monthly series. If you haven't listened before, it's a chance for the two of us to get together and chat about different aspects of true crime, from individual cases to our own experiences of researching and presenting them. It's a slightly different format from our usual podcasts, with a more relaxed conversation, a few personal reflections and, inevitably, a few laughs along the way.

Meanwhile, Adam explores the fatal 1987 car crash involving actor Matthew Broderick in Northern Ireland, as well as the bizarre story from Scotland of Neil Young (not that one), whose dispute with a colleague over WhatsApp messages escalated into a violent confrontation.
