The following is a conversation with Michael Ian Black. Michael is a comedian, actor, writer and cultural commentator known for his sharp wit and thoughtful takes on modern society. I’m a big fan, I love his style, his calm (and very British, I must say) deadpan quick wit especially. He’s been in many of the comedy shows I’ve enjoyed so much throughout the years, so it was a real treat for me - I’m a huge of “Have I got News for You”, I must say. In this conversation I speak with Meagan Medick, an Emmy-winning news producer at NewsNation who works closely with Ross Coulthart on UFO/UAP coverage and podcast projects.
Meagan shares how she first got pulled into the UAP world through working with Ross, her background in broadcast journalism, and what it’s like producing major UAP stories from behind the scenes.
We discuss her experience covering the National Press Club event in Washington, D.C., the challenge of reporting live while coordinating logistics, and why long-form podcasts are often better suited to UAP topics than short mainstream TV segments.
Meagan explains how tips and testimony come into their inboxes, how seriously they vet claims, and why credibility and responsibility matter in such a fragile subject area.
The conversation also touches on the pace of “disclosure,” her personal views (including how faith shapes her perspective), and why she suspects Hollywood may be a soft form of disclosure more than government institutions.
We close with what she’s working on next — including Ross’s investigative YouTube direction — and her advice for independent creators: keep going, find a new angle, and focus on stories that genuinely move the needle.
