Ep. 278: The Sleeper Agent: Lyme Disease & Biological Warfare

    2026/10/20 | 1h 40 mins.
Author and researcher A.W. Finnegan joins the show to discuss his book The Sleeper Agent: The Rise of Lyme Disease, Chronic Illness, and the Great Imitator Antigens of Biological Warfare.

After his own experience with Lyme disease led him down a years-long research path, Finnegan began digging into the history of biological warfare, Nazi virologist Erich Traub, Project Paperclip, Plum Island, and Cold War experiments involving ticks, insects, migratory birds, and infectious disease.

Throughout the conversation, Finnegan lays out his argument that the history of Lyme disease may be far more complicated than the commonly accepted story, pointing to declassified documents, scientific research, government programs, and the concept of immune tolerance as pieces of a much larger puzzle.

We also discuss vaccine research, COVID-era biodefense, government experimentation, why biological weapons can be uniquely difficult to distinguish from naturally occurring outbreaks, and the controversy that follows anyone willing to question established explanations.

Toward the end, Finnegan shares some of the research he has uncovered since publishing The Sleeper Agent and gives a glimpse into his next project, which takes an entirely different direction into the history and folklore surrounding jinn.

    Ep. 277: The Psychic Renaissance

    2026/10/13 | 1h 36 mins.
Katie Jo returns to Tinfoil Tales for a conversation that starts with remote viewing and quickly goes much further into the strange possibilities surrounding human consciousness.

We discuss experiments involving remote viewing and psychokinesis, the Monroe Institute, out-of-body experiences, spontaneous knowledge, altered states of consciousness, and the growing interest in studying experiences that have traditionally been pushed to the fringes. Katie also shares some of the remote viewing experiments her own group has conducted and why she believes there is still much more to understand about what the human mind may be capable of.

From there, things get considerably stranger.

Katie discusses filming with people who identify as psychic and sanguine vampires, including unusual experiences she witnessed while participating in group energy exercises. We also get into crisis apparitions, strange figures appearing along rural roads, astral projection, precognitive dreams, psychedelic experiences, and whether some reported hauntings could actually involve consciousness somehow projecting itself beyond the physical body.

The conversation eventually turns toward the possibility that fairies, goblins, aliens, cryptids, and other entities reported throughout history could represent different interpretations of the same underlying phenomenon. We also discuss mysterious humanoids, strange experiences in caves, human involvement in alleged abductions, intuition, Dogman sightings, and why sometimes the most dangerous thing encountered during a paranormal investigation may simply be another person.

It is a wide-ranging return conversation about consciousness, perception, the paranormal, and the uncomfortable possibility that the boundaries between all of these subjects may not be as clear as we think.

Ep. 276: The Mystery Behind the Crop Circles

    2026/10/09 | 1h 20 mins.
Former crop circle maker and researcher Citizen D returns to Tinfoil Tales to discuss his new book, It Can't Be People: Voices from the Inner Circle, and the strange experiences reported by the people actually responsible for creating some of the world's most elaborate crop formations.

D openly acknowledges that humans create many of the crop circles attributed to UFOs and extraterrestrials. But after collecting accounts from trusted circle makers, he believes explaining who physically flattened the crops may only uncover a much larger mystery.

We discuss circle makers dreaming about designs before they appear, different teams independently creating nearly identical patterns, unexplained additions appearing in formations after the creators leave, strange orbs seemingly inspecting completed circles, and overwhelming feelings of fear that have caused experienced teams to abandon formations before they were finished.

D also shares accounts of footsteps following people through otherwise empty crop circles, unusual apparitions, possible hitchhiker effects, mysterious individuals appearing within the crop circle community and then disappearing, and strange coincidences that seem too specific to easily dismiss.

The conversation ultimately moves away from extraterrestrials and toward consciousness itself. Could focused human intention somehow influence what happens inside these formations? Are ideas being shared through some kind of collective consciousness? Or is something else interacting with the people creating them?

After years spent searching for the intelligence behind the crop circle phenomenon, D has reached a different question entirely.

What if the real mystery isn't what's visiting us?

    What if it's us?

Ep. 275: Searching for the Unknown

    2026/10/06 | 45 mins.
Buddy has spent years exploring the woods of eastern Kentucky, searching for answers to some of life's biggest mysteries. What began with a childhood encounter that he believes may have been Bigfoot eventually expanded into a lifelong fascination with UFOs, hauntings, mysterious creatures, and everything that exists beyond conventional explanation.

In this episode, Buddy shares a remarkable daylight sighting of a metallic orb hovering just above the treetops, strange orange lights maneuvering across the night sky, unsettling paranormal investigations inside abandoned buildings, and eerie encounters deep in the woods that left him with an overwhelming sense of dread.

Our conversation also explores why so many people are reluctant to share their experiences, the importance of remaining skeptical while keeping an open mind, and why the search for evidence is often just as meaningful as finding the answers themselves.
