    Week 15 2021 | The State of the Community SOAR meeting, Northeast meeting, Monroe Park meeting, River Park meeting Miami Village meeting, Rum village meeting, WBOM had Unity Gardens ED Sara Stewart this month, Community Roundtables kickoff, TEDx South Bend Watch Party kickoff, Neighborhood Clean up & Walk Audits, Neighborhood basics program launching - newsletter, website, communication, documentation, and mapping, Looking for those interested in book club, Congrats to SBBW on moving to their new location, Youth job fair Saturday 17 April at Howard park, GVI South Bend Alive grant award winners please reach out - anyone engaging youth please reach out we want to help support your efforts, share with us any updates you have and your can find all of our resources at connectsouthbend.com Welcome to week 15 2021 of the state of the community podcast I'm your host rent Carlile this week we have the sore beating going on Northeast meeting Monroe Park Riverpark Miami Village and rum Village neighborhood meetings all going on The Wiz women's business owners of Michiana had Unity Gardens exec executive director Sarah Stuart this month's congratulations to the connections their love to see people meeting monthly getting together around the things are passion about in sharing those Passions Community round tables will kick off in the end of this month as will the tedx South Bend Elkhart watch party so look out for those invitations to be apart of these are free events that are open to anyone across the area focused on South Bend neighborhood cleanups and walk out it's our getting started some neighborhoods already have some cleanups going on would like you to let us know we'll link here in the show notes to the community update survey and if you'd like to do a clean up walking around your neighborhood and even just your streets are we can organize and help connect with code enforcement who will help bring out a truck trash bags gloves and some other helpful things when you do a cleanup we also like to do walk out at the same time as we're walking around the area cleaning up we can also document things like potholes or something that needs cleaning or something that needs a dress that we could either do or we want to communicate with the city neighborhood Basics program is launching so if you need something like a newsletter website communication documentation or mapping let us know and we can help you do those things those our neighborhood Basics that you're able to communicate with the neighbors around you be able to understand and look up what is already going on and get connected to the resources you need based on what you want to be doing looking for people interested in book clubs so the books themselves will focus on community building and all that entails we're interested to know who wants to be a part of that book club if you're interested again look in the show notes for the book club link we want to say congratulations to the South Bend Brew Werks I'm moving to their new location looking forward to them opening up and grateful for their continued partnership the Youth Fair is coming up this Saturday 17th of April at Howard Park again look in the show notes for the link to that and gbi South Bend's alive Grant Award winners please reach out if you or a group you are working with is a gvi South Bend alive Grant Award winner we would like to help engage youth we want to help support your efforts who want to help you do what you're already doing we just want to help uplift what people are doing in the good work of engaging youth were deeply disturbed by the density of shootings and the the workaround engaging use we would like to help support so please reach out and we would like to help however we can please share with us any updates you have and as always you can find all of our resources at connectSouthBend.com.
