In this IP 101 discussion, Jean van Vuuren and Kim Rademeyer explore various aspects of intellectual property, focusing on trademarks, copyright, and their applications in different industries. They begin by addressing the difference between trading names and trademarks, emphasizing that they don't necessarily need to be the same. Jean explains that a trading name is often associated with a holding company, while a trademark is used for specific products or services. They discuss the importance of trademarking both company names and individual product names. The conversation then shifts to the pharmaceutical industry, where Jean elaborates on the differences between original, generic, and clone medications. He explains how patent expiration leads to the creation of generics and how pharmaceutical companies create clones to compete in the market. The discussion touches on the benefits to consumers and the misconceptions surrounding generic medications. Kim and Jean also delve into the topic of copyright, explaining its automatic nature and the challenges in enforcing it. They discuss the importance of copyright notices and the concept of fair use. The conversation then moves to e-commerce and the role of intellectual property in online businesses. Jean highlights the importance of registering trademarks early to prevent issues with competitors. Finally, they discuss the future of AI in conference proceedings, touching on its potential for improving efficiency, accuracy, and engagement in meetings. Solid Gold Podcasts and Audiobooks Website

Memorability the Brain Skills Podcast with Kirti Ranchod
I was 37, already a neurologist for many years, the day my beautiful grandmother forgot how to get home. A home where I spent my happiest childhood days.
I knew then that I had to do more to help her, now living with Alzheimer's disease, and more for the people I was seeing in my practice, in ways that academic neurology at that stage did not offer.
There was so much research on what could be done to keep the brain healthy and mentally well. So much research on how to support better brain function, to reduce the risk of illness such as Alzheimer's disease, depression and stroke, but also to get the brain to function better, to learn and to remember, to solve problems and make decisions, to imagine and create different possibilities.
The brain is incredibly powerful.
Welcome to Memorability the Brain Skills Podcast where I help you to unlock your brain's potential using practical neuroscience so that you can work through your challenges and make the most of your opportunities. Kingdom Business Podcast with Songezo Soso Mata
For the transformation of unemployed youth.
I was 21 years old evangelising around Umtata.
Some of the people we met were hungry and I thought buying bread and milk would have helped them more at the time.
This incident deeply bothered me and is connected to the scripture in James 2 verse 26, “Faith without action is dead.”
This scripture propelled me to seek ways of ensuring people go to bed with a full stomach.
