Azzi Fudd Goes No. 1 on a Historic Night at the 2026 WNBA Draft

    2026/04/14 | 22 mins.
Jordan was on the Orange Carpet for the WNBA’s 30th draft night, the first year in recent memory where there was no clear #1 draft pick.

Then, the Dallas Wings, on the clock with #1, picked Azzi Fudd, the “people’s princess.” The crowd at The Shed in NYC erupted with applause. And the UCLA Bruins had a historic night.

Dallas had back-to-back #1 picks in ‘25 and ‘26–Paige Bueckers and now Fudd. Jordan discusses with Dallas Wings’ beat reporter Myah Taylor what Fudd adds on and off the court, and what the team will look like this year, with Fudd, Bueckers, veteran Arike Ogunbowale and other Dallas teammates.

Free agency and re-signings continue fast and furious across the league as we head toward training camp and preseason.
