An Afrikaner refugee family comes back to South Africa for medical treatment (and a Kauai smoothie?) and gets stuck here. Women are being found murdered in and around Kempton Park, and the price of onions goes up 219%. South Africa, are we okay?

KG, Zoë and Stephen unpack the Kempton Park murders and the questions these killings raise about gender-based violence and somehow action seems to fall on running clubs rather than the police. They also discuss the sexual offence charges against suspended deputy national police commissioner Shadrack Sibiya and the Freedom Front Plus’s choice of Bill Harington as its Nelson Mandela Bay mayoral candidate.

And then there are the onions. KG has questions. Many, many questions.

Every billboard. Every rugby jersey. Every airport. Every second ad break. The casino used to be somewhere you drove to. Now it lives in your pocket, right next to your banking app.
This week the team goes deep on the gambling boom that's quietly become a national crisis. We spoke to a psychologist working with affected youth. A young person who got hooked and made it out. An economist. An MP pushing for tighter rules.
One question kept coming back. If South Africans are losing this much, who exactly is winning? Turns out the answer runs through provincial licensing, political donations, and a few names you might not expect.

A pride flag went up at Bishops boys' high school for two whole days during Pride Month, and some of the school's old boys had a full meltdown about it.
But here's the thing, they don't all speak for the school. Anton Taylor, another Bishops old boy, took one look at the ooms trying to yank it down and said "absolutely not."
Actor, comedian and friend of the show, Anton joins KG for a frank, unfiltered conversation about comedy, masculinity, the culture of boys' schools, and why standing up for the person with the least power in the room is the whole point.
Real strength isn't kicking down at the people below you, it's the opposite. You can love rugby and the gym and still not be a bully about it. We get into where toxic masculinity actually comes from, what these schools get right and badly wrong, how comedy fits into all of it, and what it means to be an old boy who wants better for the next lot.
