DECEPTION: The Heiress Who Never Was: Anna Delvey

    2026/04/14 | 1h 7 mins.
Between 2013 and 2017, Anna Sorokin — a Russian-born, German-raised young woman with a sharp eye for luxury and a sharper tongue for anyone who doubted her — convinced New York's elite that she was Anna Delvey, heiress to a vast European fortune. She stayed in five-star hotels, flew on private jets, defrauded banks out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, and nearly secured a $22 million loan to fund her own private arts club. She was caught, convicted, detained, and still, somehow, kept talking. We trace the con, the character, and the city that was almost too flattered by her attention to notice it was being robbed.

DECEPTION: The Hustle That Didn't Hustle Back: Jen Shah

    2026/04/07 | 1h 12 mins.
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast her as a larger-than-life personality with an enormous entourage, designer everything, and a lifestyle that demanded constant explanation. What Jen Shah didn't explain — until federal agents showed up at a cast event — was that her business empire was built on a telemarketing fraud scheme that targeted thousands of vulnerable people across the country, many of them elderly. She pled guilty in 2022 and was sentenced to six and a half years in federal prison. We look at the mechanics of the scheme, the victims it left behind, and what the cameras captured that nobody thought to question.

DECEPTION: The Mother Who Invented an Illness: Gypsy Rose Blanchard

    2026/03/31 | 1h 43 mins.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard spent most of her childhood in a wheelchair she didn't need, taking medications for conditions she didn't have, and telling the story her mother Dee Dee had written for her — of a sick little girl who needed constant care. Dee Dee Blanchard fabricated illness after illness, collecting charity, sympathy, and total control. When Gypsy finally found a way out, it ended in her mother's murder. We examine the crime through the lens of the real victim in this case: a young woman who had never been allowed to know what it felt like to be healthy, and who made a devastating choice to survive.

Survivors of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy (MSBP/MSP) or Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another (FDIA) require specialized, trauma-informed care. Immediate help includes contacting Adult/Child Protective Services, or hotlines like the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-SAFE). Specialized support includes therapy for PTSD, somatic therapy, and specialized resources like MunchausenSupport.com.

DECEPTION: The Great Canadian Syrup Heist

    2026/03/24 | 47 mins.
In one of the strangest and stickiest white-collar crimes ever committed, a group of Quebec thieves siphoned off nearly 3,000 tons of maple syrup—worth over $18 million—from the Global Strategic Maple Reserve, an actual government-run stockpile meant to stabilize syrup prices.
