    Whats on our bench: 🎶
Pete helped Keith in his shop on a custom desk build for an audio obsessed customer, had to cut down a unique tree on his property, and expanded the garden to grow more fruit trees.

Dan modified his CNC to cut tenons for his tables, he’s leaning into his trad wife era making strawberry syrup, and he celebrated pride month.

Braden decided to cut a hole in his (and Dan’s CNC) to do vertical work holding for cutting tenons, got Dan’s new jointer set up, and finalized his dust collection.

    Questions:

I’m completely redoing the whole damn shop. It’s 24 ft x 36 ft. I have the tools I like. But I need to build out my shop furniture. In your opinion what are the must have shop furniture pieces and the “leave that for some YouTuber to do” projects?

I am building a dog crate for our new pup. Normally I would go to GF arm-r-seal. But wanted to see if you guys had a better
recommendation at least for the bottom piece (toe nails, and let's be honest bowel movements may occur, so cleaning will be a thing)
It's all solid walnut - you can check my posts to see the mid century design.

    Whats on our bench: 🎶
Pete is working on laying down pavers, and is hunting down a groundhog.

Dan fixed Braden’s drum sander and fixed a door handle in his shop bathroom.

Braden worked with Dan, working on the built in cabinet doors, and got a new welder.

    Questions:
    Chris from Home Front
I'm redoing one of those big box store garden benches, the kind with the wood slats and wrought iron cast armrest/endcaps. The slats are going to be ribbon (quartersawn?) sapele and just a wire wheel and touch up black enamel for the the endcaps. My question is; What is a good off the shelf outdoor finish, that won't lose too much chatoyance. I  understand the sun remains undefeated, but im looking for something that occasionally I can run through the drum sander, apply a recoat of said finish and call it a day. This bench is going to be a memorial for my late father-in-law. Thanks guys, and F cancer.

    Chris from Home Front
So everyone said to run ads but my ROAS for the year (at 2-3 dollars, only recently bumped to 5, per day) is 3.5.
I didnt do the math but chatgpt says that takes my profit margin from 42-49% down to 21%....
To me this means I can either counter this by running bigger batches making myself more time efficient  and focus on volume, and/or I can up my daily spend and  focus my ads to only my five top selling items and hope that shifts the metrics....
Or quit ads alltogether, rely on SEO alone. Driving down volume, uping profit margins (hoping that its a wash), however this would privide more "down time" to create new products in hopes that they pop off.
Savy business people, what do y'all think? Im also going to cross post this in moneymaking. Thank you all.

    Dustin from ShopHumble
Hey boys! Looking for some advice. I’d like to find a way to comfortably become more “present” on social media, in ways they don’t require my appearance or persona. I’m very tinfoil hat about content I put online that could be used to train an AI tool to facade as my persona. Things like damaged social representation, fake news, keep me up at night. I see some accounts that find success with a similar approach, like Takuwoodcraft, dcreation007, barefootwoodcraft, secretsocietywoodcraft, heartwooddesigns.me - they all have their niche and it’s well displayed.

Are these thoughts that cross your minds? If so, what’s the dominate thought process? Would you change your approach to social media after seeing what these tools are capable of (and knowing that AI is the dumbest today it’ll ever be)? Thanks!

What's the deal with Easel by Inventables? I teach CAD to students and always look for free options for them to use outside of school. Easel has a fairly robust free option, but anytime I hear it mentioned around other professionals, noses crinkle, there are awkward glances away and someone starts talking about Vectric instead. Is it just not cool enough? Or is this like a snap back situation?

I recently finished a remodel for my shed which involved having to take my track saw and cut out parts of the siding. It was a nightmare fighting gravity while trying to keep the track flat and straight. Based on the location, it was impossible to use clamps. Do you have any tips or tricks on how to more easily make a cut on a piece that is perpendicular, such as a wall?

    Trashpandawood
lets talk small vs large products. I’m at the point I batch produce one small item and that is it. I’d rather make fewer and larger things for more money per item. No more cutting boards etc. But what are the pros and cons of this approach?

    Rosie
Alrighty boys, if you were in my shoes, what would you do now? 4.9 m views on TikTok and gained 1,000 followers, 1.8 m views on instagram gained 228 followers

    Brock from BrickTuba Creations
As the summer heat is upon us, the garage is humid. Much more humid than riding Union Pacific's 4014 Big Boy to your Mom's house. Anyway, how would you vent it throughout the year to relieve the humidity in the summertime? I have some machines in there that may or may not be getting damaged. What would you do? Cut a hole and put a cheap vent from the local hardware store or cut a hole and put up some screen to keep the bugs out? Let me know what you think. The garage is old, but with updated electrical with limited outlets available, so fans would be out of the question.
