- This week, Scott and Marc fire up Zoom for a deep dive into Rob Savage’s 2020 found-footage nightmare, HOST!
Filmed in just 12 weeks during the height of the COVID-19 lockdown, Host is a lean, mean 57 minutes of relentless tension. The plot follows six friends who try to break up the monotony of quarantine by hiring a medium to conduct a séance over a Zoom call. But when one of them disrespects the ritual and invents a fake deceased friend as a joke, they unknowingly open a door for a demonic entity to enter their homes. As the Zoom call counts down, the spirit targets each participant one by one in their own isolated spaces—turning custom digital backgrounds, clever face filters, and basic household items like flour and flash photography into terrifying set pieces.
We talk about how Host stands as a brilliant, terrifying time capsule to a very specific and surreal moment in world history—perfectly capturing the suffocating anxiety, tech fatigue, and sheer isolation of 2020—while delivering a masterclass in modern jump scares and genuine horror to boot.

Starring a platinum-blonde, relentless Kristen Stewart, William Eubank's sci-fi creature feature skips the boring backstory and plunges us straight into pure claustrophobic survival chaos. We dig into why this fast-paced, Alien-meets-Lovecraft thrill ride is a criminal underrated gem. Trapped on the shelf for years during the Disney-Fox merger, Underwater finally hit theatres in early 2020—only to have its box office crushed as early COVID concerns and looming theatre shutdowns snuffed out its run before word-of-mouth could take hold. We give this aquatic nightmare the love and second look it truly deserves!
As always, we’re keeping it interactive:
🎧 Listener Voicemails: We hit playback on your calls to hear your favourite deep-sea horror moments and absolute worst underwater fears.
💬 Three-Word Reviews: You sent in your short, punchy, and hilarious takes on the film—we read them all and give our reactions!
🧠 Marc's Quiz Night: Think you know deep-sea terror? We put Marc to the ultimate test to see if his movie knowledge on Aquatic Horror floats or sinks to the bottom of the ocean floor!
Put on your heaviest suit, watch out for Cthulhu-sized leviathans, and enjoy the show!

Follow Marc: @vhsfromthecrypt - Lock your car doors and check your maps, because this week the You Run Podcast is heading out to the British countryside—and things are getting incredibly bleak.
We are diving deep into the 2008 psychological thriller/survival horror Eden Lake, starring a young Kelly Reilly and Michael Fassbender as a couple whose romantic weekend getaway turns into a relentless, terrifying fight for survival against a gang of deeply sadistic local teenagers. Directed by James Watkins, this film is a brutal masterclass in tension, isolation, and worst-case scenarios.
⚠️ A Note for Our Listeners: Eden Lake is an intensely visceral and emotionally exhausting watch. It deals heavily with themes of youth violence, extreme cruelty, and psychological torment. If you haven't seen it yet, please be advised that it contains highly distressing scenes.
Once we finish dissecting the relentless dread of the movie, we lighten the mood with our favourite segments! First, we check out what you had to say with our 3-Word Reviews from the community. Then, it's time for a high-stakes game of Would You for $10 Million?, where we put Marc in the hot seat to find out exactly what horrific, embarrassing, or downright questionable things he is willing to do if the price is right.
Did you think the ending of Eden Lake was as devastating as we did? Tune in to find out!

On this episode of the You Run Podcast, Scott and Marc are tackling 1988’s neon-soaked slasher spectacle, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master.
Directed by Renny Harlin, this is the instalment that officially turned Freddy Krueger from a terrifying, shadow-dwelling bogeyman into a pop-culture, one-liner-spouting MTV superstar. Packed with legendary, surreal dream sequences—from the waterbed trap to the infamous "roach motel"—this film split the horror community right down the middle.
And speaking of split opinions... things get heated in the studio today. Scott absolutely loves this movie, championing its peak-80s style and wild practical effects. Meanwhile, Marc absolutely hates it, ready to tear down Freddy's playground brick by brick.
Special Guest Alert! 🎙️
To help us settle the score, we are joined by the incredible Kate from Down Under, co-host of the Pizza Bones True Crime podcast! Kate brings her signature Aussie charm, true crime insights, and her own thoughts on Freddy's fourth outing.
But can she survive the ultimate test? Kate steps up to face the legendary, pressure-cooker Quiz Meltdown—a gauntlet of trivia that remains completely unbeaten. Will she be the one to finally break the streak, or will the clock claim another victim?
What’s in This Episode:
The Review: A deep-dive discussion on The Dream Master. Is it a masterpiece of 80s cheese, or the moment the franchise lost its bite?
Movie Trivia & Facts: We scatter in some wild behind-the-scenes facts. Did you know A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 was actually the highest-grossing film in the franchise until Freddy vs. Jason? Or that the screenplay was written during the 1988 writers' strike, meaning much of the movie was made up on the fly?
Three-Word Reviews: We read and react to our listeners' brutal, hilarious, and spot-on three-word movie reviews.
The Unbeaten Quiz: Can Kate survive the Meltdown?

Follow Kate: Kate from Down Under on Instagram - You voted for it, so now you have to live with it! This week on the You Run Podcast, Scott and Marc are diving headfirst into Rob Jabbaz’s ultra-violent, face-melting 2021 Taiwanese horror sensation, The Sadness.
We follow a young couple trying to reunite across the city of Taipei amidst a sudden outbreak of the "Alvin Virus." But forget standard, brain-dead zombies—this virus mutates the brain's empathy centres, turning everyday citizens into sadistic, bloodthirsty sadomasochists who act on their absolute worst, most depraved impulses with a big, terrifying smile.
Is this a masterful, adrenaline-fueled masterpiece of modern body horror, or did the relentless, mean-spirited depravity finally push the boys past their breaking point?
Plus, we play a special survival game: Can Marc actually survive a zombie apocalypse in The Sadness universe? Knowing these zombies aren't just hungry, but deeply, aggressively sadistic... things are going to get ugly.
We’ll also dive into a fresh batch of listener voicemails, drop some production facts, and check out 3 Word Review
