We kick off with CONTENT (GrimmVision), a story presented entirely via laptop and smartphone screens, and concerns a film director who blackmails his would-be actors.

Next is RISE OF THE CONQUEROR (Signature Entertainment) - a glorious historical epic set 100 years after the demise of Genghis Khan.

RUNAWAY REVENGE (4DigitalMedia) is a thriller set in Buenos Aires, where a young woman acting as a drug mule must evade corrupt cops and deal with what is sitting in her stomach.

Josh Duhamel stars as an about to retire cop in SURRENDER (Signature Entertainment), until a stranger surrenders and confesses to three murders...

THE VORD (Miracle Media) is about a woman at the centre or a metaphysical battler for the soul of her daughter.

Out Short Shot is OBEY, about a woman mourning the loss of her talented dog - but should be careful what she wishes for! Click the link to see the whole short film!

Our DTV Throwback is HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN, starring Roddy Piper as Sam Hell, one of the last virile men in a post-apocalypse wasteland. We watched this on Amazon Prime, but you can also find it on other streaming services such as Tubi... (NB: I said that this hailed from New Line Pictures - of course, Roger Corman's film studio was NEW WORLD PICTURES!)

ONLY FANGS (FilmHub) sees a wannabe monster hunter hooking up with a gang of vampire chicks!

SCARBORN (ViaPlay) is a Polish historical drama showing events leading to war with Russia.

TOUCH ME (Lightbulb Film Distribution) finds a codependent couple of friends seduced by a shape shifting alien.

Our Short shot is LAST STAND ON HOTH, a Star Wars fan film which utilises AI to convey the story visuals - click the link to see the whole short film!

Our DTV Throwback is THE MARKSMAN, starring Wesley Snipes, sent to Chechnya to stop rebels from bringing a nuclear reactor back online. This is currently available on Netflix, and presumably other streaming platforms.

PAST LIFE (Miracle Media) sees a former journalist plagued by murderous visions after being hypnotised...

SURRENDER TO IT (Miracle Media) concerns a group of actors on a retreat in the North's wilderness...

SCREAM THERAPY (Miracle Media) similarly is about a group of women on a retreat, but in the desert!

and THE CURE (Signature Entertainment)is about an adopted teenage girl with a strange illness discovering some harsh truths about her billionaire parents!

Our Short Shot is THE LOST FORTUNE OF OLIVER BRODY, in which a prospector is visited by a supernatural figure - click the link to watch the whole short film!

Out DTV Throwback is HOLLOW MAN 2, in which a detective hunts for an invisible assassin! This film has recently been added to Netflix.

DAGGERS INN (Seven Tales), in which an enigmatic young woman enters a quaint village and stirs things up!

THE DEEP DARK (4Digital Media) is a French creature feature set in a coal mine!

Our Short Shot is THE HAT MAN, in which a man's dreams turn to nightmares. Click the link to watch the whole short film!

And the DTV Throwback is the cruelly overlooked FREAKED, in which Bill and Ted's Alex Winter co-directs and stars as a pompous star who is subjected to terrible experiments. Unfortunately the YouTube copy we viewed seems to have now been taken down!

The Short Shots have been on a two year hiatus but its finally back in action! To celebrate, Mike and Rich take a look at ten short films, all with a martial arts theme. BULLET STORM [13 minutes] (Tim Pek / Peter Phan, 2025) is about a hitman being forced to target a man who'd saved his life;

PREVAIL [11 minutes] (Ryan Dalan, 2025) is a Filipino saga about 2 brothers;

DAKOTA STONE [9 minutes] (Sherice Griffiths, 2025) is a noirish tale about a muscle for hire;

THE PROTECTOR [7 minutes] (Bruce Chong, 2025) sees a young couple intimidated by a local gang;

THE PROPOSAL [6 minutes] (Dan Liu, 2024) finds an agent in love with his partner, trying to find the right time to propose!

Our Long Shot is the 35min NIGHT OF THE RONIN  [35 minutes] (Nathan Bender, 2024), in which an assassin tries to protect a woman from wave after wave of attackers.

Our Short Throwback is HARDWAY: THE ACTION MUSICAL. [34 minutes] (Daniel Vogelmann, 2017). This particular short is available on Disney+ and will require a subscription to watch, or you can order it from https://vimeo.com/ondemand/hardway
