**OBI-WAN S.A. THE LONG WAY HOME**

**CHAPTER II: THE MIRROR**

Chapter I was about leaving.

Chapter II is about what happens when distance starts changing the way you see things.

**The Mirror** begins in Afro-deep territory warm, rooted and familiar before slowly moving into something darker, rawer and more rhythmically fractured.

The first half carries the sound of Africa with confidence: deep grooves, percussion, soul and movement. But as the mix develops, those familiar elements begin to shift.

Records are reinterpreted. Rhythms become heavier. The groove moves away from the comfort of Afro-deep and gradually falls into Gqom. That transition became the story of the chapter. One of the most important moments is **Sfede**.

It opens the mix in its original form, then returns much later through General C’Mamane’s Gqom interpretation.

Same song. Different reflection. That became the idea behind **The Mirror**. Being far from home made familiar things feel different. Music, culture, identity and even the idea of South Africa itself started to sound different when experienced from another part of the world.

By the final stretch, the mix no longer sounds like the chapter that opened it. The groove has changed. The perspective has changed. And that is exactly where Chapter II was supposed to arrive.

**The Long Way Home.**

Four chapters. One journey.

**Chapter II - The Mirror.**

THE LONG WAY HOME — CHAPTER I: DEPARTURE

China 2026 | Curated & Mixed by Obi-Wan S.A.

The journey begins.

Chapter I of The Long Way Home documents departure — leaving South Africa, the long journey east, touching down in Haikou and stepping into the beginning of three weeks in China.

Musically, Departure stays rooted in the sound that has always defined Obi-Wan S.A.: deep, soulful and understated house music. Warm basslines, patient grooves, dub interpretations and South African selections move alongside Atjazz, Jullian Gomes, Rocco Rodamaal and other records that shaped the atmosphere of the journey.

This isn’t a soundtrack trying to sound like China.

It is the music I carried into China.

From the introspection of the opening records through the deeper rhythmic middle and the warmer final moments, Chapter I captures that strange space between leaving what you know and arriving somewhere completely new.

The Long Way Home.

Four chapters. One journey.

China, 2026.

Afro Sunsets — August Edition

The sun doesn't always disappear quietly.

Afro Sunsets — August Edition begins beneath open skies, moving through AfroTech, deep African rhythms and familiar melodies before gradually turning toward something louder, warmer and unmistakably South African.

From the atmosphere of DJ Gregory and Mpho.Wav, through Hambalua and a reimagined Madan, the journey slowly gathers momentum.

Then night arrives.

The drums get heavier. The energy changes. Gqom enters the conversation, tributes become celebration, and what began as a sunset journey ends firmly on the dancefloor.

From horizon to nightfall.

From rhythm to release.

5… 4… 3… 2… 1…

Ignition sequence starts.
