Leman Russ Tanks | Warhammer 40K Lore

    2026/08/26 | 1h 21 mins.
In our Warhammer 40K lore dive episode 73, In this episode, we explore the Leman Russ Battle Tank, the rugged armoured workhorse that has formed the backbone of the Imperial Guard for over ten thousand years. From its rediscovery during the Great Crusade and naming by the Space Wolves to its mass production across Forge Worlds and Hive Cities, we examine how a simple yet remarkably durable Standard Template Construct design became one of the most successful fighting vehicles in Imperial history. We then delve into its construction, battlefield role, and the harsh realities of tank warfare, exploring its heavily armoured hull, adaptable weapon systems, distinctive manufacturing patterns, and the crews and Tech-Priests who keep these venerable machines fighting despite unimaginable conditions. Finally, we break down the remarkable diversity of the Leman Russ family—from the all-purpose Battle Tank and bunker-shattering Demolisher to the tank-hunting Vanquisher, infantry-devouring Punisher, rapid-fire Exterminator, plasma-wielding Executioner, and countless specialist, relic, and forge-world variants.

Infamous Genestealer Cults | Warhammer 40K Lore

    2026/08/19 | 1h 36 mins.
In our Warhammer 40K lore dive episode 72, we explore some of the most infamous Genestealer Cults in Warhammer 40,000, revealing how each twists the Tyranid infestation into its own unique ideology of rebellion, faith, and annihilation. We begin with the cybernetic Bladed Cog, whose corrupted Tech-Priests fuse flesh, machine, and Tyranid biology, before crossing the wastelands with the Rusted Claw, nihilistic nomads who believe all civilization is destined to decay. From there, we examine the fanatical Pauper Princes, whose downtrodden followers embrace martyrdom in service to their alien "Star Children," and the militarised Hivecult, masters of infiltrating the Astra Militarum and turning the Imperium's own armies against themselves. Finally, we descend into the irradiated ruins of Necromunda to uncover the horrifying Cult of the Second Son, a grotesque Malstrain brood born from a failed attempt to cure Genestealer infection, whose twisted hybrids and psychic horrors continue to spread beneath the hive's ruins. Together, these cults reveal the terrifying adaptability of the Genestealer threat, proving that whether through technology, faith, decay, military discipline, or mutation, every path ultimately leads to the same fate: the arrival of the Tyranid Hive Mind.

Adeptus Ministorum | Warhammer 40K Lore

    2026/08/12 | 1h 50 mins.
In our Warhammer 40K lore dive episode 71, we explore the Ecclesiarchy—the Adeptus Ministorum—the vast state church that transformed the Emperor of Mankind from a secular ruler into the divine God-Emperor worshipped across a million worlds. We trace the faith’s origins from Lorgar’s forbidden teachings and the aftermath of the Horus Heresy to its rise as one of the Imperium’s most powerful institutions, examining the Age of Apostasy, the tyrannical reign of Goge Vandire, and the reforms of Sebastian Thor that reshaped the Imperial Church and gave rise to the Adepta Sororitas. Along the way, we uncover the Ecclesiarchy’s immense political influence, its armies of missionaries, confessors, and priests, and the role it plays in binding humanity together through the Imperial Creed. Finally, we descend into the darker side of Imperial faith, exploring the brutal punishments, acts of penance, and instruments of torture redemption that define its doctrine.

Haemonculus Covens | Warhammer 40K Lore

    2026/08/05 | 1h 44 mins.
In our Warhammer 40K lore dive episode 70, we descend into the nightmarish world of the Haemonculus Covens, the most twisted and depraved faction within Drukhari society. Ancient even by Aeldari standards, the Haemonculi are masters of fleshcraft, torture, poisons, and resurrection, wielding such complete control over life and death that they hold immense power within Commorragh. We explore their grotesque laboratories, where captives are transformed into obedient Wracks, monstrous Grotesques, and horrifying Pain Engines, while endless suffering fuels both their experiments and the immortality of their kind. The episode examines the covens’ bizarre philosophies and rival disciplines—from poison masters and fear cultists to fanatics seeking transcendence through evil—as well as infamous groups such as the Prophets of Flesh, the Dark Creed, and the Coven of Twelve.

Officio Assassinorum Temples | Warhammer 40K Lore

    2026/07/15 | 1h 41 mins.
In our Warhammer 40K lore dive episode 69, we descend into the shadow war of the Imperium by exploring the deadly Assassin Temples of the Officio Assassinorum—the Emperor’s secretive order of sanctioned killers tasked with eliminating threats too dangerous for armies or fleets to confront openly. From the brutal indoctrination of Schola Progenium recruits to the creation of assassins stripped of identity and remade into living weapons, we uncover how the Imperium turned murder into a sacred instrument of statecraft. The episode breaks down the major temples and their terrifying specialisations: the shapeshifting infiltrators of the Callidus Temple, the godlike snipers of the Vindicare, the chemically crazed berserkers of the Eversor, the psychic-null horrors of the Culexus, and the poison masters, cyber manipulators, and hidden duellists of the Venenum, Vanus, and Adamus clades.
