Kids Bible Stories

Scripture: Mark 4:1–20 In this episode, we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark as Jesus teaches beside the lake and tells the Parable of the Sower. Jesus uses the picture of a farmer scattering seed to help us understand what happens in our hearts when we hear God’s Word. Kids will be invited to ask: How do I respond when I hear God's word ?

In this story, the seed represents God’s Word, and the different soils represent the different ways people respond when they hear it. Some hearts are distracted, some seem joyful at first but have no root, some are crowded by worries and desires, and some receive the Word, accept it, and produce fruit.

Big Takeaways:

God’s Word is like seed planted in our hearts.

Jesus teaches that people respond to God’s Word in different ways.

Sin can make our hearts hard, shallow, distracted, or crowded.

We need Jesus to forgive us, change us, and help us receive His Word by faith.

The “crop” Jesus talks about is not corn or tomatoes—it is a changed life that looks more like Christ through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Mark 3:20–35 & 1 John 3:8

In today’s episode, we hear one of the most important questions anyone could ever ask: Who is Jesus really?  Some people thought Jesus was out of His mind. Others accused Him of doing evil. But Jesus made the truth clear— He is the Son of God, and He came to destroy the works of the devil, rescue sinners, and bring people into the family of God. 

We also hear Jesus say something surprising and beautiful: “Whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.”

This episode helps children understand:-Jesus is the Son of God
-Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil
-People still respond to Jesus in different ways today
-All who trust in Jesus belong to the family of God

Why would Jesus choose these men?

In today’s episode, we step into a moment where crowds are pressing in from every side—people eager to see Jesus, hear Him, and be healed. But then, something quieter—and just as important—happens.

Jesus goes up on a mountainside… and begins calling people to Himself.

One by one, He chooses twelve men—very different from each other—to be His apostles.

But this wasn’t random.

In this episode, kids will learn:

Why Jesus chose twelve apostles 

What the word “apostle” means 

How this connects to the 12 tribes of Israel 

Why Jesus chose such a variety of people 

And what this teaches us about the family of God

Mark 3:1–6

In today’s story, Jesus enters a synagogue on the Sabbath and meets a man with a shriveled hand. While others watch closely—waiting to see if Jesus will break their rules—Jesus does something unexpected.

He heals.

But instead of celebrating, the religious leaders become angry.

Why?

Because they cared more about their rules… than people.

In this episode, we explore what the Sabbath was meant to be, what the Pharisees misunderstood, and what it means to truly love God and others.

God’s laws are rooted in love—and they teach us how to love Him and others well.
