The Western Wingshooter Podcast

For the last few years Ive had this thought in my head....Let me give you a little back story. I had a buddy a few years ago that had a dog that was 8 years old jump up on the tailgate after a pheasant hunt. His feet were wet and there was some snow on the tailgate. The dog slipped when it hit the tailgate and tore its ACL. Sure it was a freak accident but ive seen my own dogs slip and tweak things.
So, for the last few years ive been thinking about some sort of a tailgate cover to help prevent it. I contacted the guys from Aqua Traction here in North Dakota with my idea and they came up with a soulution!
We also spend a good bit of time talking about running the missouri river in search of giant walleyes!

On this weeks podcast George and Wess from the Prairie Tails Podcast join me to talk about bird numbers in our area.

We also talk about the Sharptail Ridge 2026 Golf Championship.
And we wish Rusty a Happy Birthday and tell a few stories about the Old Boy.

In this episode of The Method Men we talk alot about overlooked small things that we do with young dogs that helps set them up for the future!
We talk about using paint rollers with puppies for retrieving, the downside of letting dogs chew on tennis balls, and how to interupt bad decisions in training.

This one was fun! Michael joins me this week to talk about his new bird dog and his new found love for chasing upland birds with his dog, Juniper.
We talk alot about chasing birds in Montana including huns, blue grouse, and pheasants and sharptails.
We then switch gears and talk fishing!

This is the first installment of a monthly episode series that we will be recording together to talk about dog training.  In this one we dig into puppy "training" including crate training, the importance of being on a tie out, and much much more.
