An American sealer ship gets lost in a week long fog near the Russian coast fearing that ifn they are seized the Russians won't believe that they didn't kill seals in their protected waters and will haul them off to Siberia. The Russians arrive just vas the fog lifts and seize their vessel, leaving the fate of 22 men to the quick mind of the cabin boy on the sealer to come up with a plan.
