In today’s episode (the last one on the book of John), we hear the amazing story of how Jesus surprised His disciples with a miraculous catch of fish—and even made them breakfast! Simon Peter, John, and the gang had been fishing all night with nothing to show for it. But when a man on the shore told them to try one more time, they pulled in a whole LOAD of fish! That’s when they realized—it was Jesus! Peter was so excited he jumped right in and swam to Him.But this wasn’t just about breakfast. Jesus had a very special conversation with Peter. Jesus was reminding Peter of his important job: to take care of God’s people. And that’s not all—Jesus reminded all of His disciples (and us!) to follow Him, no matter what. Even when the road gets tough, He’ll be right there. • Episode 41: John 19 - Crucify Him
Hey friends. Today’s story is a tough one—but don’t worry, it’s part of the greatest rescue plan ever. We’re heading into John chapter 19, where Jesus shows just how much He loves us—even when everything gets really, really hard. In today’s story Jesus, the true King, is treated like a criminal. The crowd yells “Crucify Him!” and Pilate, the Roman ruler, gives in. Jesus is hurt, mocked, and made to carry His own cross. But even when things seem scary or unfair, Jesus isn’t out of control. He’s still King. He’s still good. And He’s still carrying out God’s perfect rescue plan. This part of the story reminds us just how deep God’s love really goes—so deep that He gave everything to bring us back to Him.Podcast Questions:After they hurt Jesus, what did they put on him? When Pilate told the people that he found no guilt in Jesus, how did they respond? What happened to Jesus that night after all the mistreatment he received?Remember, you can submit your answers here, for a chance to win a prize!Recommended ResourcesPre-Order Now! • Episode 40: Denial - John 18
Today’s story takes us into a garden at night, where something really important—and really hard—happens.Jesus had just finished praying with His disciples when Judas showed up… but not to pray. Judas brought a group of soldiers and leaders with torches and weapons. They came looking for Jesus, but guess what? Jesus didn’t run or hide—He stepped forward and said, “I am He.” Even in danger, Jesus cared for His friends. He told the soldiers, “Let my disciples go,” because Jesus is the Good Shepherd who protects His sheep. But Peter… well, he got scared. First, he tried to fight back with a sword (and even cut off someone’s ear—yikes!). But Jesus said, “Put it away. This is part of God’s plan.” Then, after Jesus was arrested, Peter followed from a distance—but when people asked if he knew Jesus, he found himself scared again.Meanwhile, Jesus was being questioned, but He stood strong. Even though this night was full of fear and sadness, we see how brave and loving Jesus is. And we also see how people, like Peter, can mess up—but Jesus still loves them and has a plan to make things right.Podcast Questions:Where did Jesus and his disciples go after He finished praying?Who approached Jesus in the Garden?Who did the people want to free, instead of Jesus?Remember, you can submit your answers here, for a chance to win a prize!Recommended ResourcesPre-Order Now! Hey friends! Today we’re jumping back into the Upper Room with Jesus and His disciples. Jesus had already washed their feet and shared lots of amazing things, but He wasn’t done yet! He had one more super important promise to make: He was sending someone very special — the Holy Spirit!Jesus explained that soon, He would go to be with the Father, but He wouldn’t leave His friends alone. The Holy Spirit would come to help them! He would show the world what’s true about sin, and how through Jesus, we can be made clean and whole again. The Spirit would guide the disciples (and us!) into all truth, and always point us back to Jesus and the Father.Even though the disciples felt confused and maybe even a little sad, Jesus promised that their sorrow would turn into joy.
