October 16 Daily Reading- Read the Bible in 1 Year
If you would like to download my FREE calendar for keeping track of your commitment to read the Bible every day, you can find that on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/pages/read-the-bible-in-1-yearMonthly memberships to support this event can be purchased on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/offering_packagesToday's we will be reading the Book of Acts Chapter 9.Today's reading will show Jesus revealing Himself to Saul, telling Saul (and us!) that Saul was actually persecuting JESUS when Saul thought he was persecuting the followers! We will see Ananias called by Jesus to heal Saul's eyes and give him the Holy Spirit, but he was resistant to do so because of Saul's reputation. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about how God takes who we are and shows us how to be ourselves the right way in order to build the Kingdom of God! Jesus took Saul's zeal for God and showed him how to be zealous for Jesus! In our own lives Jesus does this with us all the time! God takes EXACTLY who we are and shows us how to be ourselves the RIGHT WAY, the way HE designed us to be! So let's be who we are FOR JESUS! We also learned that no matter what we have done we can still be used by Jesus! We are not without purpose! Let us remember this situation when God calls us to witness to people we might have a tendency to feel are "beyond hope." Not even Saul was "beyond hope" or "too sinful." As a result of this difficulty the followers began spreading out to other areas and proclaiming the Good News about the Word, Jesus! We will also see that when Philip went to Samaria to proclaim the Word the people there received the news joyfully, accepting Jesus and being baptized, but did not receive the Holy Spirit until Peter and John came and laid their hands on the people. Then they received God's Holy Spirit. Spoiler alert: It has to do with UNITY among God's people! God revealed this answer to me from Got Questions.org.: https://www.gotquestions.org/Acts-8-receive-Holy-Spirit.htmlIn our discussion for daily application we will talk about WHY God did not send His Holy Spirit upon the Samaritans until Peter and John arrived. The past differences between Samaria and the Jewish church would be overcome by the unity of God's Holy Spirit. In the same way, TODAY'S CHURCHES, with all of our different sects (Lutheran, Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, etc.) we need to remember that WE ARE ONE IN GOD'S SPIRIT and need to "be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." October 14 Daily Reading- Read the Bible in 1 Year
Welcome! Today is the eighth day of the Feast of Tabernacles in 2025, also known as the Feast of Tents or Sukkot. It is the day of our Sabbath rest following the close of the feast! Yay!Today is also Joy of the Torah day! This is traditionally the day that Jewish people give thanks for God's Word as well as begin to read the entire Bible for the year! It is a common, communal goal to read the entire Bible every year, following the same schedule together! While I will not be reading the same schedule of the Bible I have a chronological study Bible from the New Living Translation that I am considering beginning reading on January 1 as a "Going Deeper" reading or "Second Helping" compared to the "Big Picture" we read this year with the Day By Day Kid's Bible, written by Karen Henley. Please be encouraged to comment wherever you listen or send me a private message on my website letting me know that you would be interested in following along for next year's more in-depth reading of the entire Bible in one year. But for today, please join with me and let's give thanks to God for giving us the gift of His Word! John 1:1 tells us that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. THANK YOU GOD FOR THE GIFT OF YOUR PRECIOUS WORD AND THANK YOU JESUS FOR BEING THE WORD! Please help us spread the word about reading YOUR WORD. In Jesus' name we ask this, Amen.If you would like to download my FREE calendar for keeping track of your commitment to read the Bible every day, you can find that on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/pages/read-the-bible-in-1-yearMonthly memberships to support this event can be purchased on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/offering_packagesToday's we will reading the Book of Acts Chapters 6-8:2. We will also look at the Book of John Chapter 16:1-4 where Jesus taught the disciples that there would be a day coming when whoever kills them will think he is offering a service to God for doing so.In today's reading we will read about Stephen, the first martyr for Jesus. The leaders did not like Stephen telling them that they were repeating the same sins of their ancestors and were remaining stubborn, set in their ways, unwilling to accept the changes that God Himself was bringing about. In our discussion for daily application we will be reminded that Jesus taught us that all who have sinned are slaves to their sin, but that He, the Son, came to set us free from that bondage and that if the Son has set us free, WE ARE FREE INDEED. Let us be sure that if the Holy Spirit is convicting us of disobedience that we do not choose to stay comfortable and stuck in our ways, having hard hearts. Instead, let us listen to and obey the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to transform us by the renewing of our minds. We do not have to stay stuck in our sin! The SON HAS SET US FREE! Let us throw off the yoke of slavery to our sin and accept the freedom that Jesus gives us!If you enjoyed today's reading and feel like God has lit YOUR light please click the LIGHT button (it looks like a thumbs up or a heart) and consider subscribing to or following my channel, if you have not done so already. If you know someone who might be interested in reading the Bi! ble with me this year please SHARE today's reading with them! October 13 Daily Reading- Read the Bible in 1 Year
Welcome! Today is the seventh day of the Feast of Tabernacles in 2025, also known as the Feast of Tents or Sukkot. Before we get started with our daily reading I want us to remember to celebrate The Joy of the Torah day! This is traditionally the day that Jewish people give thanks for God's Word as well as begin to read the entire Bible for the year! It is a common, communal goal to read the entire Bible every year, following the same schedule together! While I will not be reading the same schedule of the Bible I have a chronological study Bible from the New Living Translation that I intend to read this year, starting on Tuesday, The Joy of the Torah day! Please join with me and prepare to give thanks to God for giving us His Word on October 14, 2025.If you would like to download my FREE calendar for keeping track of your commitment to read the Bible every day, you can find that on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/pages/read-the-bible-in-1-yearMonthly memberships to support this event can be purchased on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/offering_packagesToday's we will reading the Book of Acts Chapter 4:36-37 and all of Chapter 5.Today we will read more about the community of believers looking out for one another and caring for one another the way that Jesus had taught them by selling their land and giving the money to the disciples so that no believers were in need of anything! We will also read about a particular couple who sold their property and said that they were giving all of the money that they had made from the sale to the disciples for distribution, but really, they had withheld some of the proceeds. The money was theirs to do with as they wished, so Peter asked them why they felt the need to lie to God's Holy Spirit and say that they were donating the full sale value. Before answering the question both the husband and wife died immediately for their sin! We will also read more about the difficulty that the jealous religious leaders were giving the disciples for witnessing and teaching about Jesus by throwing some of the disciples into jail. The leaders were very surprised the next day to discover that the disciples were not in jail anymore (because an angel had released them and told them to go stand in the temple and teach the people about the New Life they could have have, which they were doing the next day when the leaders were looking for them. Among the leaders Gamaliel stood up and gave some great advice: he told the leaders to leave the disciples alone because they were either acting on their own beliefs or on God's authority and if the disciples were acting on God's authority then the leaders would be found to be working against God and there was nothing they would be able to do to stop the growing number of believers. How right Gamaliel was! In our discussion for daily application we will remember that Jesus taught us that we will have troubles in this world but we are to take heart because HE HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD! We are on the winning side! There is nothing that can stop us from succeeding or the stop the number of people becoming believers of Jesus! So let's continue boldly witnessing and teaching people about Jesus, making followers for Him all over the world! If you enjoyed today's reading and feel like God has lit YOUR light please click the LIGHT button (it looks like a thumbs up or a heart) and consider subscribing to or following my channel, if you have not done so already. If you know someone who might be interested in reading the Bi! ble with me this year please SHARE today's reading with them! October 12 Daily Reading- Read the Bible in 1 Year
Welcome! Today is the sixth day of the Feast of Tabernacles in 2025, also known as the Feast of Tents or Sukkot.I apologize for getting this daily reading published midday on the 13th. I had a great deal of technical difficulty on the 12th. Although I tried to get the video uploaded my efforts were unsuccessful and I finally had to call it a night. Thank you for your grace. :) Before we get started with our daily reading I want us to know about a Jewish holiday coming up in 2 days- It's the Joy of the Torah day! In response to being told not to continue witnessing about Jesus, Peter and John asked the religious leaders what they thought God would say in this situation- should Peter and John obey God or the leaders? In the same way we need to remember to follow God's rules rather than man made rules that teach us not to obey God.We will also read about the community of believers looking out for one another and caring for one another the way that Jesus had taught them.In our discussion for daily application we will talk about remembering how Jesus taught us that we have been freely provided for by God and so we need to also freely share with and be willing to share with others the things we have been given by God so that no one is in need!If you enjoyed today's reading and feel like God has lit YOUR light please click the LIGHT button (it looks like a thumbs up or a heart) and consider subscribing to or following my channel, if you have not done so already. If you know someone who might be interested in reading the Bible with me this year please SHARE today's reading with them!
