What a Barb! A Polin Podcast

Dearest gentle Polin, we have been apart for far two long.

As we celebrate the second anniversary of the imperfect season of our hearts, it’s time to head back home to the drawing-room window with a view of the house across the street.

In our special Polin Q&A, we’ll be looking back over two years of blow-away balloons, cheek strokes and the best first kiss Veg has ever seen before making room on the chaise for our favourite redhead and a green-eyed imposter.

After a spot of tea with Book Polin, we’ll be grabbing our devilishly yellow headcoverings and taking a promenade through Polin’s past, from the very first Vauxhall jig through to a final retirement sway. Once we’ve picked Penelope up from the pavement and the 408 dance off the cutting room floor, we’ll also find time to reminisce over crumbs, blurs and our very own histories of connection.

Raise your glasses of lemonade, old friends. We have a happily ever after on our hands and a love story for the ages.

Is life supposed to be this wonderful? We think so. We really do.

Och aye, the newest love story has arrived.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled Polin Week to swish our way into Season 5 and celebrate the burgeoning romance between the quietest Bridgerton and her auld acquaintance, Michaela Stirling.

We’ll be swapping our mourning veils for kilts and heading up to the Highlands for a wee bit of puzzling, a big bit of yearning and a good old fashioned time jump.

On the way back from our Scottish sojourn, we’ll be visiting Benophie at Their Cottage before heading to Featherington House in hopes of finding Colin Bridgerton fully in frame and ready to matchmake.

And after we’ve muddied our hands planting seeds for a future love match, we’ll be searching the greenhouse for a missing botanist and checking the fifth Bridgerton for inky fingers.

Flowers may take a while to grow but the Good Ship Franchaela is ready to go.

Get into the stag, everyone.

Join us as we commit Season 4 Part 2 to its final resting place and mark the passing of another year in the ton.

With our black veils on, we’ll be dancing in honour of a beloved Scotsman, mourning the loss of a not-so-beloved Featherington and weeping at the graveside of our Vicus hope and dreams.

And with our class-crossed lovers facing (mostly) insurmountable odds, we’ll be helping a thief in the night pack her bags for an escape to the Americas. If only we could find that pesky necklace…

But with a jail break in hand and a maid running free, we’ll be gathering at the grandest night of the year to spin a fantastical tale about the love match of the season: Miss Sophie Gun and the brother to the Duke of Hastings.

It’s been one hell of a year, dearest listeners. Let us all have a biscuit, shall we? (Not you, Colin.)

Join us at Featherington House as we nibble on the finest cheeses and share our first (belated) reactions to Season 4 Part 2.

As we wait for Sophie to decide whether we need to pack our bags for Our Cottage, we’ll be busy feather shopping with El, ruining lives with a former gossip writer and topping up the pink champagne to mark the un-bow-lievable return of one Lady Penwood.

Elsewhere, we’ll be raising ducklings with Daphne, bumbling to the bar with Colin and wrestling the last puzzle piece off of Michaela.

But with Hyacinth’s recital planning driving us mad and a parliament of Aylesbury owls giving us a headache, we hope you’ll forgive us for taking a little nap.

Rest assured, we’ll be revived in time for dinner. Uh, right John? John?!
