  • Star Trek At Comic-Con And Skydance Update + ‘Strange New Worlds’ Episode 304 “A Space Adventure Hour” Review
Brian Drew from The Shuttle Pod joins Anthony and Laurie to talk about the latest on the approved Paramount-Skydance merger and all the news from last week’s San Diego Comic-Con, which brought big reveals about Star Trek: Starfleet Academy (including a teaser trailer, character bios, and more) and Strange New Worlds (with teases for season 3, season 4, and beyond… and puppets), plus long-awaited details—and a teaser—for the audio drama Star Trek: Khan. Then Anthony and Laurie review Strange New Worlds’ episode 304, “A Space Adventure Hour,” which they had very different takes on. They wrap up with the announcement of TrekMovie’s upcoming panels at Star Trek Las Vegas.

  • ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Episode 303 “Shuttle to Kenfori” Review
Anthony and Laurie review episode 3 of Strange New Worlds‘ third season, “Shuttle to Kenfori.” They talk about the three different stories—a zombie planet expedition with Pike and M’Benga, insubordination from Ortegas, and growing Gorn issues for Batel—and how they intertwine thematically. They also dig into some nitpicks about hair, mind melds, and Klingon costumes, and discuss Pike’s character arc plus the joy of seeing Una in command. There was also some breaking news which Anthony quickly covers regarding the Skydance/Paramount merger getting final regulatory approval. Together with Laurie they will cover that in more detail in next week’s pod, along with all the news emerging from San Diego Comic-Con.

  • ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Season 3 Early Thoughts And Preview + Skydance/Paramount Update
Anthony and Laurie start the podcast with a deep dive into the latest goings-on with the Paramount/Skydance merger, unraveling the latest events and discussing what its impact on the Star Trek franchise (including movies as well as TV) could be. They talk about the news that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will end after season and how that will affect the arc of the show, then spend some time digging into the season 3 trailer as well as the panel discussion from the recent screening at the Tribeca Film Festival. Both podcasters also share their (mostly spoiler-free) early thoughts on the first five episodes of the third season, which has been shared in advance with the media.  Laurie gives a quick wrap-up of the Trek Long Island convention, Tony talks about the announcement for Spaceballs 2—and a hint from Tim Russ that he may return for it—and Laurie recommends a fun video of the Lower Decks show open done TOS-style.

  • Bruce Horak Interview On Hemmer And Singing Klingons In ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’
Anthony and Laurie welcome actor and artist Bruce Horak to the podcast to talk about getting cast as Chief Engineer Hemmer on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, doing knife-catching scenes and death scenes, singing as a Klingon, filming during Covid, and bonding with Uhura. He also tells us about his way of seeing the world and how he’s expressing that in his painting and the documentary he’s crowdfunding, Boldly Going, in which he meets others who have overcome barriers to find creative freedom and purpose and paints their portrait as he talks to them, creating a moment of connection captured on canvas.
