This teaching emphasizes the importance of rightly handling Scripture by returning to foundational principles of interpretation, stressing that God’s Word must be understood according to its original language, historical setting, and context, rather than personal opinion or modern philosophy. Drawing on 2 Timothy 2:15, it calls believers to “rightly divide” the Word, illustrated through Nehemiah 8:8, where the Levites read the Law and explained its meaning so the people could understand it. The message warns against subjective interpretation in light of 2 Peter 1:20–21, affirms that Scripture can carry multiple true meanings without contradiction as shown in Matthew 2:15 alongside Hosea 11:1, and cautions believers not to go beyond what is written according to 1 Corinthians 4:6. Ultimately, it underscores that sound doctrine flows from careful exegesis—text, context, and context again—guarding the church from error as warned in Colossians 2:8.
