EP 100 - Are We Done With Reality TV? The Truth After 100 Episodes

    2026/09/17 | 42 mins.
100 episodes. 10 years of OutDaughtered. 20 years of marriage. And a life we never could have planned.

For the 100th episode of More Than Reality, Adam and Danielle Busby look back at just how much has changed—from raising six little girls and filming *OutDaughtered* to moving their family, changing careers, homeschooling the quints, building a new podcast studio, and figuring out what comes next.

But this episode also goes deeper into the parts of reality TV that viewers didn't always see.

Adam opens up about how much he was actually away from Danielle and the girls during the early years of *OutDaughtered*, working a demanding full-time career while filming the show, building their YouTube channel, editing videos until 2 or 3 in the morning, and then getting back up before 5:00 AM for work.

Danielle shares how overwhelming those early years became—and why there are entire seasons of life with the quints that now feel like a blur.

They also talk candidly about the pressure reality television can put on a marriage, the difficult conversations they had behind the scenes, navigating criticism from millions of strangers, and why they kept coming back to the purpose behind sharing their family's story.

And then there's the question they continue to hear:

Will the Busbys ever film again?

Adam and Danielle share where they stand today, conversations they've had with producers, why they're hesitant to jump back into traditional network television, and why they both still feel there may be another way to tell their family's story.

Plus, the new More Than Reality studio is finally about to become a reality, opening the door to more guests, new conversations, and the next 100 episodes.

    In this episode:

    • What viewers didn't see during the early years of *OutDaughtered*
    • How raising quintuplets changed Danielle physically and emotionally
    • Adam's demanding career while filming the show
    • Building YouTube while working a full-time job
    • Why those early years became such a blur
    • The opportunities—and pressure—that came with reality TV
    • How public criticism affected Adam differently years ago
    • Protecting your marriage when life gets difficult
    • Why Adam and Danielle refused to let filming divide their family
    • How faith helped them navigate difficult seasons
    • Moving from League City to Friendswood and starting over
    • Adam's unexpected career journey with Good Ranchers
    • Danielle's transition into homeschooling the quints
    • Whether the Busbys would ever return to television
    • Conversations with producers and what they'd want to do differently
    • Bringing the Busby YouTube channel back
    • Building the new More Than Reality podcast studio
    • What's coming in the next 100 episodes

EP 99 - I Wanted to Give Up on Homeschooling Today

    2026/09/10 | 42 mins.
Today was one of those days.

In Episode 99 of **More Than Reality with Adam and Danielle Busby**, Danielle gets very real about the hardest homeschool day they've had yet—and the moment she finally thought, **“I don't want to do this anymore.”**

The day seemed to have everything working against her.

The AC went out in the new house. It got close to 90 degrees inside. The girls were struggling to focus after a long holiday weekend. Tennis pushed school later into the day. Technology wasn't cooperating. The house was a mess. And Danielle was trying to figure out how to teach five kids who don't necessarily learn the same way.

After asking the quintuplets what actually works best for them, she got exactly what you might expect from five different kids: different answers.

Some prefer video lessons. Some want Danielle teaching at the table. Others work better independently.

It's another reminder that homeschooling five kids isn't simply doing the same lesson five times.

Danielle also opens up about feeling defeated, why missing their normal morning devotional seemed to throw off the entire day, the encouragement she received from an experienced homeschool mom at exactly the right time, and what she's learning about giving herself permission to simply stop and finish the lesson tomorrow.

Meanwhile, life at the Busby house isn't slowing down.

Adam and Danielle also talk about:

    - Why the AC picked possibly the WORST day to stop working
    - The reality of finding five different learning styles
    - Why one hour of tennis can completely change their homeschool schedule
    - Danielle's first homeschool “come to Jesus” meeting with the girls
    - The quintuplets' reaction when Danielle reminded them public school is still an option
    - Decorating the girls' bedrooms in the new house
    - Adam and Danielle's disagreement over the future podcast studio
    - Why Episode 100 probably won't happen in the finished studio
    - Adam's upcoming trip to a Wyoming ranch
    - Why neither Adam nor Danielle's brain ever seems to shut off
    - Raising six kids who understand chores and responsibility
    - Which quint has mastered loading the dishwasher
    - Learning to give your kids—and yourself—a little more grace
    - Why the entire Busby family had to find somewhere else to sleep for the night

It's messy, exhausting, funny, frustrating and about as **More Than Reality** as it gets.

And somehow…we're already at **Episode 99**.

    One more to 100.

EP 98 - Do You Actually Know Where Your Grocery Store Meat Comes From?

    2026/09/03 | 31 mins.
Do you actually know where the beef you’re buying at the grocery store came from?

Episode 98 of More Than Reality with Adam and Danielle Busby takes a very different turn as Adam shares what’s been consuming much of his work life over the past few weeks: the growing conversation around imported beef, American ranchers, meat prices, and how surprisingly difficult it can be for consumers to know where their food actually came from.

Through his work with Good Ranchers, Adam has been traveling, speaking with ranchers and having conversations about what recent proposals to increase beef imports could mean for the American cattle industry.

But Adam and Danielle make an important distinction: this conversation isn’t simply about being against imported beef.

    It’s about transparency.

Why can you pick up countless products in a store and immediately see what country they came from—but determining where your meat was actually raised can be much more complicated?

Adam breaks down the country-of-origin labeling issue, why imported and American-raised beef can enter the same processing system, how large meat processors influence the supply chain, and why ranchers say seemingly simple solutions to lowering beef prices can have unintended consequences.

    They also talk about:

Why the U.S. already imports a significant amount of meat

What increased beef imports could mean for American cattle producers

Why lowering meat prices isn't as simple as increasing supply

The influence of the largest meat-processing companies

What country-of-origin labeling means for consumers

Why “packaged in the USA” doesn't necessarily answer where an animal was raised

Why Adam believes consumers should be able to make that choice themselves

His recent travel with Good Ranchers and conversations happening behind the scenes

Why supporting a local rancher is a great option when you have access to one

And because this is still the Busby house, the episode eventually gets interrupted by kids, cookies, dogs, tropical weather…and completely goes off the rails.

Just another normal night at More Than Reality.

    2 Days Into Homeschooling 5 Kids… Here’s What We’ve Learned

    2026/08/27 | 45 mins.
Homeschool has officially started in the Busby house… and after just TWO DAYS, Danielle is already learning that teaching five 11-year-olds at home is nothing like she imagined.

In Episode 97 of More Than Reality with Adam and Danielle Busby, we’re giving you the real update from the quintuplets’ very first week of homeschool—the good, the frustrating, the hilarious, and the completely exhausting.

Danielle shares what actually happened on Day One, why her carefully planned setup immediately needed changing, and what she’s learning about teaching five kids who all work at completely different speeds.

One child wants to move faster.

    Another needs more time.

Two definitely should NOT sit next to each other.

And apparently, the girls thought homeschool meant there wouldn’t be quizzes or tests.

    Spoiler: **it’s still school.**

    We talk about:

    - What the quintuplets’ first homeschool day actually looked like
    - Why Danielle is already changing the schedule and setup
    - Teaching five kids at different academic levels and learning speeds
    - Why video lessons worked for one subject—and completely failed for another
    - Creating individual systems, rewards and color-coded school supplies
    - The unexpected mental load of becoming your kids’ teacher
    - Why Danielle desperately needs a bigger table and whiteboard
    - Balancing flexibility with structure
    - Whether homeschooling could allow Riley to move ahead academically
    - Giving yourself grace when things don’t go according to plan
    - Why Adam may officially be becoming “Principal Dad”
    - And why, despite feeling completely exhausted and unprepared, Danielle says homeschool still **“feels right”**

This episode is less about having homeschool figured out and more about what happens when you actually start.

Danielle opens up about the pressure she feels to get it right, her natural desire for things to be organized and perfect, and why this new season is forcing her to slow down, be more present, and accept that every daughter may need something different.

And the biggest realization after the first two days?

**It doesn’t have to be perfect to be the right decision.**

With Blayke entering high school and the quintuplets entering a completely new stage of life, Adam and Danielle also talk about why this slower season may be exactly what their family needs right now.

If this is your first year homeschooling—or you remember the chaos of your first year—tell us in the comments:

**What’s the one thing you wish someone had told you before you started?**

And if you’ve been following our homeschool journey from the beginning, let us know what you think: **How long do you think it’ll take before Principal Dad makes his first official classroom appearance?**

**More Than Reality** is where Adam and Danielle Busby talk honestly about faith, marriage, parenting, raising six daughters, life after reality TV, and everything happening beyond what you see on the surface.

EP 96 - We Need to Clear Something Up About Our Marriage & Homeschooling

    2026/08/20 | 1h 3 mins.
After last week’s conversation about homeschooling sparked a LOT of opinions, Adam and Danielle are responding to some of the biggest questions and assumptions—including one they definitely didn’t expect:
    Are Adam and Danielle fighting?
Yes, they disagreed. No, their marriage isn’t falling apart.

    💨 AIRDOCTOR
After everything our family has dealt with—from mold to pollen and changing environments—we’ve become much more intentional about the air we breathe inside our home.
AirDoctor is the air purifier we use throughout the house. Its three-stage filtration system is designed to capture dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, odors, bacteria, viruses and ultrafine particles.
Visit AirDoctorPro.com and use promo code MORETHAN to get $250 off select AirDoctor purifiers, including the 3500, 4000 and 5500 models.
Every purchase is also backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Adam and Danielle talk about why being willing to disagree openly is actually part of their marriage, why divorce isn’t where their minds go when things get difficult, and what 20 years of marriage has taught them about communicating when they see things completely differently.
Then they answer the question so many people have been asking:
Why are the Busby quintuplets being homeschooled?
Danielle shares the deeply personal reason she believes God began putting homeschooling on her heart two years ago—and why she initially resisted it.
They also get into the practical reasons behind the decision: raising five 11-year-olds entering the middle-school years, different learning styles, dyslexia and reading challenges, academic gaps, classroom limitations, peer pressure, protecting the girls’ relationships with one another, and wanting more individualized time to understand how each daughter learns.
And despite what some people may think, Adam and Danielle make one thing very clear: they’re not anti-public school.
Blayke is still attending public high school, they love their school district and teachers, and they’re completely open to changing course if homeschooling doesn’t turn out to be the right fit for all five girls.
This isn’t about claiming they have homeschooling figured out.
It’s about stepping into something new, following where they believe God is leading their family, and figuring it out together.
They also address another conversation happening in the comments: why people feel so comfortable criticizing someone’s appearance online—and what it’s like to have people compare who you are today to a version of you they watched on television 10 years ago.
    Because life has changed.
    The girls have changed.
    Adam and Danielle have changed.
And that’s kind of the whole point of More Than Reality.
If you’re a homeschool parent—or you’ve ever had to make a major parenting decision that other people didn’t understand—we’d love to hear from you:
What helped you know you were making the right decision for your family?
