In Episode 177 of Jay of the Dead's New Horror Movies, everyone's "favorite Horror Avenger," Ron Martin — The Cassandra of Horror Podcasting — embarks on a milestone celebration unlike any other. As Ron celebrates his 50th birthday today, February 26, 2026, he has committed to a bold and personal cinematic quest: watching 50 Horror movies that he has never seen before during his 50th year! But this isn't just a random assortment of rewatches or comfort-viewing classics. No — this is Ron Martin we're talking about. The mission is simple, yet daunting: As noted above, every film must be a Horror movie that Ron has never seen before. That's right. No repeats. No safety nets. Just long-overdue "Must-See Horror Movies," overlooked essentials, and a few glaring blind spots that Ron himself admits he's slightly embarrassed to have missed.
Ron Martin's 50 for 50 Horror Special is a series that will unfold across five total episodes, with 10 mini reviews per show. In each installment, Ron delivers concise, thoughtful, and often fiery reactions — complete with ratings and recommendations — as he works to "fill in the holes" of his Horror-watching résumé. Selections may come from anywhere: physical media, streaming platforms, theatrical releases — the only restriction, again, is that Ron hasn't seen them before. It's a courageous and fascinating undertaking for a lifelong Horror authority. So, join us for Volume 1 of 5 as Ron begins his 50 for 50 Horror journey — confronting some "classics," challenging expectations, and continuing his relentless pursuit of Horror truth versus Horror myth!

It's time for your favorite Zombie Movie Podcast, better known as Dead Man Still Walking — typically a solocast starring the inimitable Dr. Walking Dead Kyle Bishop! During this 59th edition of DMSW, Dr. Bishop is recording from inside a tent (in the late summer of 2025), participating in Girls' Camp! Hey, even if he's not the fastest or cleverest girl at Girls' Camp, he's always the prettiest! Nah, our dear professor is just a great dad and a salt-of-the-Earth individual who selflessly volunteers to chaperone and volunteer as "Bear Bait," in case the young teens are attacked in the wilderness of Utah. Kyle is so cool, he essentially recreates a "Dead Serious Horror Challenge" from the old HMP days and watches scary movies at night in his tent, movies that also occur out in the wilderness.
Anywho, here in Dead Man Still Walking, Dr. Kyle William Bishop reviews a Netflix Original, Action Martial Arts / Science Fiction / Zombie flick from Thailand called Ziam (2025) — as in "Zombie Siam" or "Ziam." But using his technical definition, Dr. Bishop would not call "Ziam" much of a Horror movie, despite its zombie monsters because it has hardly any suspense or tension. It is mostly Action (with an empowered protagonist), which is not conducive to promoting fear within viewers. Even so, it's fun to hear Dr. Bishop talk about watching this film during his camping adventures. Listen!

Here in Episode 175 of Jay of the Dead's New Horror Movies, Dr. Kyle William Bishop reviews The Elixir (2025) and The Silence After (2025). "The Elixir" is an Indonesian zombie horror film, co-written and directed by Kimo Stamboel, about a family whose plan to profit from a healing tonic spirals into catastrophe, triggering a horrific wave of undead in their rural community. And "The Silence After," directed by Stockton Miller, depicts a Caribbean island which unravels into chaos when a disputed drug trial ignites social unrest and a strange contagion which transforms ordinary residents into feral, undead beings. Merry Frankensteinian Christmas from Jay of the Dead's New Horror Movies, The Christmas Morning of Horror Movie Podcasts! Releasing on December 25, 2025, the festive Horror Avengers bring you a magnificent monster mash stitched together from October and November recordings and joyfully re-gifted as a full-blown holiday special. This memorable episode earns its place in show history by featuring one Horror Avenger's Specialty Segment twice(!) in the same episode!
